love these little salt and pepper grinders. they're minimal, lightweight, and built well. I love the size. they hold a lot of peppercorns and salt rocks, but they're still small and easy to use. the ridged design is really cute and the wooden tops add a nice finishing touch. simple to operate in both opening it to add more product, as well as changing the grind size. the only thing is the white one (which I use for salt) seemed like it had something loose in its components. the black one didn't make any noise at all when I shook it out of the package and I only tested this because the white one was making a clanking noise as I was fumbling with it. doesn't seem to change how it works, but it was a little odd

Okay, these are pricey but they WORK and they don’t make a mess, two attributes that have not been present in multiple other salt and pepper mills we’ve tried. These look great, feel solid in your hand, and grind smoothly and consistently. The way they are designed means all the salt and pepper stay inside—no mess all over the counter. After numerous failed purchases, we’re very happy to have these and anticipate using them for many years to come, making them a better investment than other cheaper ones we’ve tried.

We have tried a few different salt and pepper grinders or mills over the years and they almost always create a huge mess on the table or wherever they are stored and they are often difficult to fill. These are neither. They are super easy to fill and they don't cause any mess because the grinder mechanism is on top when you set them down instead of on the bottom. They grind easily and consistently and are easy to adjust and they look very nice, but more of a classic or retro look.

Stolzer Preis, aber lt. Anleitung 30 Jahre Garantie auf den Mechanismus. Gut verarbeitet, leider etwas kleiner als ich es aus den Bildern eingeschätzt habe. Sonst aber ok und bleiben auch bei uns.

Optisch ein Highlight. Mahlwerk lässt sich gut verstellen. Liegen gut in der Hand.Ein Hingucker, der immer auf dem Tisch stehen bleiben kann und nicht im Schrank verschwindet.

What I find most appealing with these mills is their appearance, they have a modern and contemporary look with the corrugated design and natural wood stoppers/lids. However, they have some functional issues in my experience:-The ‘bayonet lock’ design is such that it doesn’t lock/click into place to prevent it from turning and opening on its own, and that means the entire contents of the chamber falling out onto the counter/table/you. This happened while I was testing the salt mill, the salt rocks spilled out all over the counter. So, it’s pretty critical that as a precaution you *ALWAYS* keep the palm of your hand in contact with the base to ensure it doesn’t fall off. In terms of design, there definitely should have been a lock that snaps into place securely.-The adjusting screw is a bit hard to turn because of trying to access it inside the narrow/tapered mouth of the mill. It turns easily, but grabbing onto it to do so is a challenge. And, the screw turns endlessly, there is no stop and there aren’t any ‘settings’, which means you can’t determine how fine or coarse your grind is, so you have to just keep turning the screw clockwise (for finer grinds) or counter-clockwise (for coarser grinds) and checking it until you see the grind size you ultimately want. It would have been much better if there were grind settings to clearly see/feel/hear (if each setting ‘clicked’ into place).-There is a silicone ring around the top stopper/lid that seems to collect some of the grinded salt/pepper and makes it messy whenever opening the top by removing the lid or reinserting the lid…there are salt and pepper flakes that inevitably fall onto the surface (or on you, if holding the mill over your lap or something). This doesn’t tend to happen with the plastic lids atop the built-in grinders of the various spice brand’s containers (like 365 whole peppercorn containers for example). I found it ‘least’ messy in this regard by ‘unscrewing’ the top lid versus just pulling it out, that helped minimize fallout.These things aside, the mills look like they’re ceramic and perhaps heavy, but they’re actually plastic and very lightweight. The grinding action of turning the body isn’t hard, it turns pretty easily without much force; I included pics of coarse vs. fine grinds. Overall though, I think the price point is a bit too high based upon the average quality of these mills.

Die erste Salzmühle, die auch nach längerer Zeit noch funktioniert und deren Leistung von der Feuchtigkeit nicht beeinflusst wird.

hätte ich mehr erwartet. Optisch sieht’s gut aus, aber leider aus Plastik.Sehen auf den Bildern viel größer aus.Artikel gehen leider wieder zurück! Achtung: Rückversand muss man selber zahlen.

Gut verarbeitet und schicke Optik, leider aus Kunststoff, daher einen Punkt Abzug. Wenn es die aus Metall geben würde, hätte ich locker das doppelte gezahlt. Kunststoff ist aber gut verarbeitet, Habtik halt nicht ganz so edel
