This is a very smooth and quiet running DCC locomotive. I'm a DCC newbie and it works great with my Bachmann EZ Command Plus controller. I can get it to crawl pulling 8 or 10 cars with no problem.

Engine runs well enough on a flat layout for a budget engine. If you got grades on your layout, the engine really slows down going up and speeds up going down. Body detail isn’t bad with clean markings. Engine is loud but I was expecting this after watching a video review.
