The first thing you'll notice when you open the box is how heavy it feels. I tried to weigh it on my house scale, which is definitely not cut out for something this size, and it was somewhere around 3 lbs. When I put it on, it definitely didn't feel like an issue though and with the back support panel, it was surprisingly comfortable. Unfortunately, that's the end of the upside. This product was over-engineered, and carelessly thought out. The ribbed netting all over it is going to be a nightmare for those that do not de-barb their hooks. I do, but they don't always end up truly barbless. And this netting is everywhere; inside pockets, on the front, the back. There's also lots of extra, and most definitely unnecessary, line catchers all over the place. Gray tabs with orange sewn holes on both sides. What are these even for? All the zippers have extra string pulls with plastic ends. How about switching to some welded paracord or something smooth? The water bottle holders are completely in-accessible unless you take the vest off. The pockets are small. The two bottom front pockets have drainage holes in the bottom. Not sure what they expect I am putting away that's soaking wet in there. Definitely going to fill up with water if I get the bottom in the river. There's two larger vertical zip pockets on the front that would have made great hand warmers, but they put that horrible netting in them too, so no heat is going to be trapped inside. It's like they don't realize it's only really warm 3-4 months a year here in the United States. The vest is a mess. On the fence about returning it only because I haven't found something better... yet.

It's a dedicated backpack with a vest on the front. Great for full day trips bringing water, food and a small jacket. Doesn't ride up like a traditional vest. Very functional.

Haven't used it much, but purchased it for a combination of fishing and field work.. historically, Fishpond products are extraordinarily hard wearing and durable, so looking forward to using this for years to come.Comfortable and stylish

Very well designed and made. Had the earlier model for 15 years and loved it. New model looks just as good.
