This mini flash is amazing! I had my doubts when I first got it, but it works well; I was pleasantly surprised. I wanted to start traveling lighter, which meant not packing my full-sized flash unit, but I needed a good flash to replace it. I only tested it at home; I haven't field tested it yet, but I have high hopes for it. It works with both my Sony a6000 and my Canon 5D Mark III. The only thing I have to be careful of with regard to the Sony a6000 is not to extend the Tamron zoom lens I have mounted on it because it creates a shadow at the bottom of the photo. I wish there was a "lift" I could place between this flash and the hotshoe so it could sit higher on the Sony. Didn't have that problem with the Canon.

As most people have said, this flash is small and simple to use. Just put it on the hot shoe and start taking photos.I would definitely say what separates this Godox flash from the other small flashes out there that I've tried, is the fact that it can step down six different levels. Most of the other ones I've tried only step down three or four levels. This definitely gives you more control over the lumens (flash power), helping you not wash out your photos with too much light. The other benefit of using the lowest flash level is the fact that it recharges quicker for the next flash and you get more flashes out of your battery life. The other big plus here is just how small and convenient it is to keep with you compared to a large professional speedlight. It also comes with a very nice soft velvet pouch to keep it protected. It's USB-C rechargeable, so no external batteries needed.

There have been a lot of these small flashes manufactured these days and I've tried about 3 or 4 o0f them so far. This one is the best so far. First of all, it is very small and the recharging is good. But the best part of this flash is that there are 6 step down levels. 1= full power, 1/2, 1/4, 1/8, 1/16, and 1/32. A lot of these kind of small flashes only have 3 or 4 step levels which limits the amount of control you have and can lead to a lot of overexposure. Because the flash is so small, their effective range is long, which means over-exposure is a regular result. By being able to go down to 1/64, you can reduce the light so much and once you get used to it, the over exposure is less. Lastly, running at the lowest setting increases the battery life, and makes the recharging the bulb faster, which means you can take more shots. This is a handy flash to use in a pich or to carry when size is a premium.

This is very to another flash I didnt like the im30. They both end up being completely manual since they dont read out on the hot shoe, my issue with this is it doesnt do well in dynamic situations which I tend to take photos in, I thought that according to the listing that it would have some features I would like but the use irl is not the same. I was also confused at the difference between the two models and its pretty much the use of an internal battery vs replaceable ones.
