Really well designed with clear digital display all be it on the small side but still large enough to see charge levels. The wand itself works really well and is water resistant so can help isolate metal objects once detected with the main metal detector. It’s comfortable to hold and the audible tone is load and clear when metal is present. The wand comes with a carry bag, charging cable and clear instructions. The cap at the base comes off to reveal the charging port.Highly recommend

There are many fake, many low sensitivity and a lot of good detectors on the market and this is one of the better ones even though it is in a low price range for this type of device.During my travels I have seen all the different detectors, from the fake to the extremely expensive / professional ones and a lot either don't work, give false detections and / or can't detect silver. This one is very good! The detector does pick up my silver jewellery it detects heavier metals such as steel easily and it even detects the steel frame of my desk, through 1/2" of solid timber.A high detection rate is achieved from a range of around 35cm, with it obviously being even better at closer ranges.Using this detector is as easy as any other ones, simply press the button to turn the device on andpoint the wand in the target area.Unlike the detectors at airport security, hotel security etc. etc. this is a pinpoint detector so it is directional. Where other detectors indicate an area where there may be some metal this can be used to pinpoint the exact location of that metal. When I go through security belt buckles always set the detector off. Sometimes I get a quick pat down, other times I just show the buckle and I am allowed to go. With this product one can easily know if it is a buckle that set off the detector or the buckle is a decoy. With this detector there is nothing detected in the area around the belt buckle so it makes it obvious that it is the buckle that is the issue.I am impressed with this device as apart from it's excellent detection rate it is USB rechargeable and it can be used in wet conditions as it is quite water tight. As the detector is of good quality and has a good detection rate it is of good value so I can recommend it.

This pinpointer is a good tool for both beginners and experienced metal detectorists! The waterproof design is a huge plus, allowing you to use it in various conditions, and the one-key interference elimination really helps narrow down targets quickly and accurately. It's super easy to use, making it great for kids, but also robust enough for adults. Definitely a worthwhile accessory to enhance your metal detecting adventures!

This is the first such pinpointer I have tried, so I am not in a position to compare it to competing models. But for just over £40, with discount, you get a portable handheld device that is solidly-built from thick ABS plastic that should be able to take some rough treatment. It's not beautifully finished, but it seems to be made for performance rather than looks. The USB-C charging port is in the base, and covered by a substantial screw cap with rubber O-ring seal. I imagine a leak here could be terminal. There is one small rubber-covered button on one side for turning the detector on, changing settings, and turning it off. It requires a firm press, but it does prevent accidental activation. The other button is for the built-in light. Changing sensitivity, alert setup and brightness of the light is done through a menu system on the small screen, and is not much fun. This compact device will have many uses besides treasure hunting. I wish I had had it when looking for a lost camera screw on the floor. It wouldn't have told me it was brass, but it surely would have located it. So far, the treasure haul comprises a roofing-felt nail from the back garden, but if any iron-age torques are lurking among the daffodils this little chap should winkle them out.

Unfortunately, there is a lot equipment snobbery and one-upmanship in the metal detecting world, and some detectorist would take one look at this metal detector pin-pointer by Hazlewolke and instantly dismiss it for no good reason. You only have to look at some of the detectorist forums where I've read comments like 'It's Chinese junk, with a German sounding name to trick you into thinking it's a quality item' followed by 'Yeah, Chinese junk, but not the type of junk you can sail around in!' I continued reading the very long thread of comments from the 5 separate contributors to discover that not a single one of the five contributor's had ever held a Hazlewolke pin-pointer, let alone used one. What I'm trying to say is, an a convoluted and roundabout way is, just because a product is manufactured in China, doesn't mean it's going to be inferior to a European or American brand. Perfect examples of this are Apple iPhones, great quality and manufactured in China. So dismissing this pointer for not being one of the elite, expensive , top of the range brands like Minelab or Garret is just a case of equipment snobbery as far as I'm concerned. This robust little fully waterproof, rechargeable pin pointer, does everything I need it to do, at a third of the price of the premium brand's entry level pointers, so its a no brainer as far as I'm concerned.Dismissing a product for being Chinese junk used to be a thing 10 or 15 years ago, but not anymore. Electric vehicles Chinese motorcycles are a perfect example this, and now, so too are pin-pointersHappy to recommend this great VFM easy to use entry to mid level pin-pointer from Hazlewolke.
