I recently added the Idyllictime Garden Hose Holder to my outdoor setup, and it’s been a practical addition to my gardening routine. Designed with a freestanding base and tool storage, it promised to keep my hose and accessories organized. The deep grey carbon steel construction caught my eye, as I was looking for something durable and low-maintenance. After using it for a while, I can confidently say it delivers on its promises, though there are a few nuances worth noting. The assembly was straightforward, and the heavy-duty 2mm carbon steel frame feels solid once set up. I appreciated the tool storage feature, which holds my gardening gloves, nozzle, and pruning shears neatly. The hose reel itself is smooth to operate, and the freestanding design means I can move it around my yard as needed. One minor drawback is that the base, while stable, can wobble slightly if the hose is pulled at an awkward angle. Still, it hasn’t tipped over, even in windy conditions.Overall, the Idyllictime Garden Hose Holder is a reliable and functional piece of equipment for anyone looking to declutter their outdoor space. It’s not flashy, but it gets the job done with minimal fuss. If you’re tired of tangled hoses and scattered tools, this is a worthwhile investment. Below, I’ve outlined some specific pros and cons based on my experience.Pros:- Durable 2mm carbon steel construction ensures longevity.- Freestanding design allows for easy relocation.- Tool storage compartment keeps accessories organized.- Smooth hose reel operation makes winding and unwinding hassle-free.Cons:- The base can wobble slightly if the hose is pulled at an angle.- Assembly, while simple, requires a bit of time and effort.- The deep grey finish, while sleek, may show dirt over time.

The initial photos on the advert don't really make the item look as heavy duty as it really is, when it was delivered I thought it was something else due to the weight and size. This item is a heavy metal construction with some screw assembly required. When constructed it reaches almost to my waist. There is a 'foot' to the front which needs to be buried/staked in to the ground. This helps to counteract the weight of the hose that can be reeled up and placed on the front. The metal seems to be well coated and I don't expect it to rust/oxidise quickly.A tap is included which mounts in to the stand itself. The handle on the tap is a bit industrial, but should mean that it can still be used with thick gloves. The tap appears to be a ball valve instead of a gland and washer, which should make it less likely to need maintenance.

This hose holder/faucet appears to be pretty heavy duty and, while it may not be the prettiest garden hose holder, it is practical and functional. The area for tool storage is great in theory, but I do worry that the semi circle design seems like the perfect spot for wasps to nest in. Time will tell.It is easy to assemble and appears to be fairly heavy duty in and of itself. That said, it's not super solid in the ground. I would recommend digging down 6” first and then re-covering the base to make it more stable. Also worth noting, you will need a ½ or ¾ inch male pipe thread to hook your water into this system. The spigot to turn the faucet on is very close to the pole. While this bothers my significant other, I don't find it to be that much of a nuisance as it's only a small quarter turn of the spigot to turn it on or off. If you had to crank it around multiple times, I could see it being annoying, but in this case it's really not.Overall I think this is a nice little self contained system and is perfect for a slightly more “removed” location in the garden where getting water and hose access might otherwise be a pain.

This is a fairly large, heavy and solid unit which was easy to put together. It's going to be really handy at the allotment as the hose can be stored at the plot and then connected to the communal tap when needed - the hose can then be turned on when it's ready to be used as it has the connection built in.It can take the weight of the hose roll but I think it could tip when the ground dries out (we have clay soil) if it is pulled on, so we'll take care to unwind what we need. The powder coating looks good, well covered and even so it shouldn't rust quickly. It's an additional expense but provides a handy way to store and use your hose in larger spaces.
