I purchased this set of bells this summer when we decided to adopt a puppy from a shelter. My parents have had this exact set for 6 years, so I felt very confident in my purchase. It looks adorable on our back door, and our puppy caught on pretty quickly to knocking the bells to let us know she needs to go out. I would definitely recommend bell training to anyone who adopts a puppy. You can go as cheap as tying a few jiggle bells to a looped string and it would work just fine (that’s what we used years ago with our Golden), but really it’s an eye sore. I love the “Cold Nose, Warm Heart” design. It’s simple, modern, and clean looking. The colors don’t jump out at you, and it works nicely with the interior of our house.

Well made, not to loud and not to soft. These work great. They only think you need to watch for is that they hang low, so you don't want them to swing and hit your dog in the head when you open the door. I don't have that problem, but I did have a visitor that flung the door opened and got smacked in the leg. Her fault, not the bells fault.I like these bells and I think they serve a great purpose. It's easy to train your dog to use them, just jingle them and open the door to let your dog out.

I started my Great Dane puppy on this a bit late, but he learned within days to ring it when he wanted to go out. He still uses it at 8 months, but beware...he now uses it just to go out, even when he doesn't have to potty.

We bought these bells for our Great Dane when she was about 5 months old. She was mostly house trained, but when she wanted to go out she would stand silently by the door, and if we didn't see her right away she would go on the rug. We had to constantly keep a very close eye on her. So I decided to try this on the recommendation of a friend. We rang the bells every time we opened the door for her to go out. She didn't seem to catch on right away, but would ring them occasionally after about a week. It took about 3 or 4 weeks for her to finally get it, and now she rings them every time she wants to go out. She hasn't had any accidents in the house since! As for the product itself - I have no complaints about the look or quality. I was a little worried about how a string of bells would look hanging from the door in our family room, but it's fine. The green is a nice color.A good product that I would definitely recommend!

When my Havanese puppy was 7 months old it was Christmas time and we had little Christmas decorations that hang on the doorknobs and had bells on them. My dog figured out quickly that they made a sound when the door was opened. The first day she would go over and bat at the bells and every time she did that we would open the door to let her out. Within about two days she had trained us. She would bat the bells once then sit down and stare at us until we came over and let her out. After Christmas we bought a set of these bells so she could continue to let us know she had to go out and because they have a louder sound than the Christmas decorations did. We have since moved and we need an extra set of bells to hang on another door she is allowed to go out of as well. The cutest thing is that when she urgently needs to go outside to potty or due to her spying her puppy friends out for a walk, etc. she will bat these bells with such urgency. And other times when she is just bored and wants to go outside or if she sees we are getting ready to leave but are moving to slowly for her liking she will bat the bells once and then wait a few minutes to see if we are coming before batting the bells once again. My puppy will be three this year and there is no wear and tear on the ribbon or damage to the bells. These are really sturdily made.
