This should have been a fast no-brainer for anyone with basic tool competence. But I got an E1 message. I'm an electronics tech so tried cutting the wires and reversing the polarity. It ran. But it's louder than the original fan by a good margin and it's moving more air but I doubt that's needed. It also makes me wonder if it's a 12 volt fan running on the 18 volts the hotplate gives it and the fan might have a short life. The least the seller should do is include a note to reverse the polarity. Better would be doing the changeover so they work and if they are 12 volt fans installing a dropping resistor or circuit so they don't burn out prematurely. Selling two fans because of the problems is in my opinion the way to go.

Connector wires require swapping among themselves on the connector, at least for my induction stove
