Als Umsteiger einer kleineren Diskstation war es der Performanceschub.Bin sehr zufrieden mit dem Gerät.Die Performance ist für meine Zwecke ideal.

Ho utilizzato diverse SAN Synology sia per lavoro che per casa, anche questa DS420+ non mi ha deluso, interfaccia chiarissima, istruzioni essenziali ma facili da seguire, qualità di costruzione. Si sente che è un oggetto 'serio'. Purtroppo quest'ultima SAN non mi entrava all'interno del mobile di casa per poco meno di un centimetro e ho dovuto renderla, ma consiglierei a chiunque l'acquisto dei prodotti Synology (li uso per lavoro, ma non li vendo; penso si non essere di parte)

Tenía antes el modelo 420j y, si bien estaba contento, con este estoy encantado. Se nota una mejora en la potencia de trabajo. Yo por mi parte le he ampliado la RAM y estoy encantado.

Ich bin sehr zufrieden mit der Synology DS! Die Benutzeroberfläche ist übersichtlich und gelungen. Der Ruhemodus ist durchdacht. Klasse finde ich, dass man die LEDs ausschalten oder auch die Leuchtkraft ändern kann. Nicht zu unterschätzen wenn die im Gästezimmer steht ;)Den Speicher bestimmt man selbst, ich nutze die WD Red im JBOD. Die mitgelieferte Software ist ausgereift, man kann alles automatisch sichern, was ich brauche (Fotos von mehreren Handys, Dokumente etc etc). Internes Backup klappt auch super. Streaming klappt auch super, hier nutze ich ein Drittanbieter Tool. Den RAM habe ich auch erweitert. 4K läuft auf jeden fall ruckelfrei, auch über wlan. Bin völlig zufrieden.

Ich habe diese NAS als Ersatz meiner DS213air angeschafft. Mit zusätzlichem Arbeitsspeicher auf 10 GB aufgemotzt und ich bin sehr zufrieden über das Arbeitstempo. Kein Vergleich zu meiner vorherigen NAS. Ich kann diese NAS DS420+ nur wärmstens empfehlen. Ich verwende die Station hauptsächlich für Bilder, Videos und Datensicherung.

habe Raid 1 mit zwei NAS Festplatten 4 TB RED von WD. Auf diesen fast nur Raw Formate. teilweise pro Bild 40-50 MB. Diese kommen zügig über LAN auf den Rechner. Allerdings ist der LR Katalog auf SSD über USB.

Meine 2012 gekaufte Synologi läuft mit 2 TB WD Platten heute noch ohne jemals rumgezickt zu haben. Aber das neue DSM hat mich gerade in Photoverwaltung und Hyper Backup so überzeugt. Die einzige Frage die ich mir stellte, warum kein AMD Prozessor verbaut wurde statt eines 5 Jahre alten Celeron von Intel. Ich habe 4 Seagate Iron Wolf mit jeweils 4 TB verbaut und bin sehr zufrieden mit dem Gesamtpaket. Das Preis Leistungsverhältnis ist aus meiner Sicht in Ordnung. 4GB zusätzlichen Speicher hätte man noch dazu verbauen können, dann wäre ich absolut happy gewesen. Die Platten sind nur beim Anlaufen etwas laut. Während des Betriebs sind sie nicht störend.

DS420+NAS arrives well packed, with a ca5e cable, power block and mains lead.The frame is very open so while nice and cool is not the quietest of NAS' but I have mine in another room so it's never an issue. I would say it is about as noisy as your average laptop can be when the fan starts running and of course the particular type of disk will affect noise greatly. If the NAS is going to be in a living area then you need to prioritise noise when buying disks.Plugging the NAS in to your network, I used my router to see the address but there is a NAS location utility you can download from Synology. You then enter the address of the NAS in your browser and the introductory screen pops up. You can not get any further without installing at least one disk. Once a disk or disks have been popped in the drive bays the NAS takes you through setup, which starts with downloading the OS. The NAS offers to do all this automatically but I would advise you not to do that. It's better to select what apps you want rather than to just accept all the stuff Synology throws at you. Also you need to read the Synology page about SMR before you do anything to decide how you want the drive(s) formatted. I wanted to use something called JBOD which does not use SMR and so I had to wipe the disks and start again.The interface is very Windows like, and very friendly. Everything is nice and easy although Synology offer little help. Fortunately Youtube is awash with videos on how to do things. The NAS is an amazingly powerful product. Synology has a website that offers dozens and dozens of apps you can run on the NAS. These days a NAS is far more than just a NAS, it can run backups, torrents, streaming, you name it, it even supports various programming languages. I advise you to search for the Synology page and check that the NAS you intend to buy can run the app you need. The "plus" variants can run more apps than the non plus so it's pretty important you check before you buy.Once the disks are formatted you can go back in to the NAS and start adding folders and making them accessible on the network. These just appear on a Windows network as folders under the name you gave your NAS. From that point on you really don't need to do much else with the NAS. You can just access those folders and use PC software to perform backups or whatever you want the NAS for. But you can then go on to install whatever apps you might want for additional functions, like streaming and so on.Personally I set mine up to power up at eight in the morning, do backups once a week, offer file services all day, then power itself down at midnight. Not much but it all was very simple to do and worked flawlessly, even updating it's own software as needed. It can do so much more.During those operations I have never seen it require more CPU or memory than it has, but I bought the 4GB memory upgrade anyway, since there is a Crucial compatible that is really cheap. Why not? That was recommended and sold by Amazon which I think was £26. Crucial CT4G4SFS8266 4 GB 1 GB DDR4 2666MHz 260-Pin SO-DIMM Memory. Again there is tons of info on the web about that.Connecting the two ports as an aggregated port showed minimal increase in performance. However, exploring this option, this seemed to come down to the seek time of the drives I was using. There was such a performance hit when two PC’s accessed the NAS at the same time the least of the problems was the network speed. However, there wasn’t a performance hit either, so no reason not to implement aggregation. With a faster raid configuration or faster drives/cache then there may be some reason to implementing it. I think the usefulness probably comes down to your specific requirements and other equipment on your network.It's a very polished product and while it might seem expensive, to my mind what you are buying here is the excellent support you are getting in the way of applications. Synology are a bit lacking in information but that's made up by the users on the internet who enthusiastically make videos left right and center.Buy one!

- Sehr einfache Installation- Benutzerfreundliche OberflächeAuch ich als "ungeübter" hab das NAS bei mir zuhause ohne Probleme in Betrieb nehmen können 👌Ich nutze es zur Datensicherung und als Media-Server mit 4 verbauten Festplatten.Jeweils eine für für Sicherung und Server und die anderen 2 mit Raid0 gespiegelt.Zusammen mit der vom Synologie zur Verfügung gestellten Software zur Datensicherung ein super System das genau das macht was es machen soll...

Dieses NAS hat einen alten ACER-Homeserver bei mir abgelöst.Das HD-Managemengt könnte in meinen Augen besser gelöst sein aber ich komm mit dem Aktuell auch zurecht.Habe einen neue 4TB Platte hineingegeben und 2 der alten 2TB ebenfalls. Mann merkt allerding den Performance unterscheid der neuen zu den beiden 7 Jahre alten Platten.Die Verfügbare Software für das NAS ist für meine Bedürfnisse ausreichend (Auch wenn die Python3 Zusatzpakete welche ich manuell nachinstalliert habe (für SQL) beim einem Update gelöscht wurden und neuerlich installiert werden mussten damit meine Programmi laufen).Ich nutze das NAS als "Haus internen" Video-Streamer für meine Aufnahmen, als "Server" für meine Auswertungen von dieversen Sensoren die im Haus verbaut sind und so weiter.Ich hatte Ursprünglich überlegt einen kleinen WindowsServer die den alten (XP-Homeserver) aufzustellen aber die Unterstützung von Phyton und PHP auf der DS reichen mir aktuell für den Privaten gebrauch vollkommen aus.

Si vous désirez un NAS, deux marques sont au dessus du lot : QNAP et SynologyLes deux vous proposent de nombreux logiciels à greffer sur votre NAS, vous permettant pleins de fonctionnalités (serveur audio, video, serveur web...)Personnellement je n'ai pas l'expérience des QNAP, mais ayant testé d'autres marques, j'ai malheureusement perdu des données vitales...C'est mon deuxième NAS Synology, le premier un DS413,tourne chez moi depuis une dizaine d'année, sans aucun problème (autre que les changements de disques durs). Malheureusement, il était un peu trop plein...J'ai donc opté pour ce modèle plus puissant et plus rapide pour les applications multimédia, serveur de messagerie et backup des données personnelles que je laisse sur le premier (je digitalise tous les documents importants et essaye de tendre vers 0 papiers). Equipé de 4 disques durs de 4To (3.6To réels) pour une capacité totale (après montage du RAID à tolérance de panne d'un seul disque dur de 10.5To). pour une tolérance de panne de deux disques durs comptez environ un peu plus de 8To).J'ai opté pour des disques durs Seagate Ironwolf, ayant eu quelques déboires avec d'autres disques pour NAS d'autres marques très connues. En plus le SAV de Seagate est au top (garantie des disques durs environ 3 ans!..)Tout cela pour un prix total de moins de 900€.D'expérience, prévoyez toujours un disque dur supplémentaire pour pouvoir remplacer le plus vite possible un disque défaillant. En effet, dans ce cas la redondance des données n'est plus assurée.J'y ai ajouté 2 SSD NVMe de 500Mo (Samsung 970 EVO plus) comme mémoire cache. Attention, l'adjonction d'un seul SSD est possible, mais dans ce cas le cache ne fonctionne qu'en lecture, pas en écriture. En effet les deux SSD fonctionnent en RAID1 pour assurer une redondance du cache en écriture.J'ai augmenté la RAM à 8Mo et ce NAS devient une bête de course...Quel plaisir de pouvoir accéder à tous vos documents, courriers, fichiers multimédia de n'importe où dans le monde...Tout est possible pour l'accès au NAS : par quickconnect (relais par Synology), par IP fixe ou dynamique (via un port reconfigurable) enfin par VPN (le plus sécure).En conclusion un NAS très facile à configurer, même pour un non technicien (en utilisant quickconnect), mais l'accession à des fonctions plus évoluées (VPN, serveur de messagerie...) nécessite des connaissances réseau plus pointues.La création de répertoires protégés permet à toute la famille d'avoir son espace de stockage personnel et protégé des autres. Il permet en outre un backup automatique de votre ordinateur dès que vous vous connectez à votre réseau et/ou de synchroniser des fichiers entre plusieurs ordinateurs en servant de cloud (ceci évite de confier vos données personnelles à certains clouds externes, pas toujours transparents sur l'utilisation de vos données...)En conclusion, si vous avez besoin d'un espace de stockage et/ou d'un cloud privatif et/ou d'un serveur multimédia chez vous, il est parfait.

Nach Austausch mit Arbeitskollegen habe ich auch (er bereits gestern) die DS420+ bestellt:Erweiterbarkeit, Raid 5, BRTFS, SSD-Cache, Link Aggregation etc. waren die Beweggründe.Heute Früh bereits geliefert und nach 10 Minuten fertig eingerichtet.Das Anbringen der 3 Festplatten kinderleicht, ebenso die SSD. Kabel rein und angeschaltet. Leise!Ein erster Tag mit der Diskmanager Station zeigt wie ausgereift und komfortabel die Software ist.1. Synchronisation mit dem PC und Sicherung läuft.Habe verschiedene Varianten und Programme getestet (Linux). Aktuell probiere ich den Synology Drive Client und mache ein kontinuierliches Backup (das ist schon praktisch).Mit einem neuen "smart managed" Switch werde ich morgen mal den Durchsatz wirklich testen können. Vielleicht ist Link aggregation ja spürbar.Und die vielen weiteren Optionen und "Apps" werde ich sicherlich in den nächsten Wochen ausprobieren.Aber schon jetzt bin ich schlicht begeistert.
