I am the kind of person who sews over pins inserted perpendicular to the edge of the fabric. I decided to try flat head pins because sometimes regular pinheads get caught on the sewing machine foot, causing the pins to twist and distort my sewing line.The metal part of these pins is so flimsy that they bend easily when you’re trying to use them. I bent one pin before they even got to the sewing machine, even though I was working with regular cotton fabric for quilting.I don’t think I’ll keep using these, for that reason alone. Which is extra disappointing because the forked pins I got from the same brand are fantastic.I will say that if the flimsiness of these pins doesn’t bother you, the heads of the pins are well designed. The ridges make it easy to use a fingernail to pull the pins out while the fabric is still on the sewing machine, if that’s how you roll.But for me, these are pretty useless.

These are perfect for miniature piecing. The flat head makes pins easy to pick up.

I ordered these pins because they were heat resistant and am surprised at how well they work. Very easy to insert into fabric. Have ordered more in several sizes so I can get rid of all my other pins. Excellent product!

I love the flat head pins not only because they are very easy to pick up, but they are heat resistant. I have all shapes and sizes of Magic Pins. I use them for different weights of fabric and different types of quilting projects. I purchased them for friends too. There pins of various sizes for different applications. Some include .45 size for Batiks and fine fabrics, .5 for everyday sewing and quilting, and larger/longer pins for use with longarms.

I don't do patchwork--I sew clothing--but these pins are so sharp, easy to insert in fabric, easy to see, and easy to remove that I use them for all my sewing. (Easier to spot on the floor of my sewing room, too!)
