I tend to use it upside-down because it's easier to see how the material being cut is centered. I use it mostly for clipping corners of game counters, and it works great if the counter is properly in the middle. Otherwise it still clips but it's not a clean rounding; it takes a bit too much off one side. That's not a problem with the device though. This works great for cleaning up rough corners of square game tokens.

I got this to clip some of my war game counters. Everyone seems to prefer buying the plastic handled version of this , which is significantly more expensive. I prefer this one. It's all metal, so it won't break, and it clips game counters just as well. It took me a few dozen clips to get the feel of this one, but once I got it I've clipped hundreds (maybe thousands) of perfectly rounded corner counters. Overall, while I was figuring it out I "misclipped" maybe six, which left them with kind of a slightly less rounded corner appearance, but still very functional. Now I never misclip any. The trick is to feel the counter as it's about to be clipped. If it doesn't clip easily, but sort of binds, I just flip it over or reset it and then it clips easily and perfectly. I love this corner rounder and glad I didn't overpay for the plastic version. The 2.5mm clipper cuts counters perfectly down to 9/16" sized counters. For ½" counters I'd probably go with 2mm clipper.

It has a very sturdy feel. I was going to use this to round corners on trading cards. It cuts but not perfectly round and sometimes slices off the side of the card rather than just rounding. It also left grease stains on the edges of the card. Two stars instead of one because it feels really strong and well-built and if you don't need perfect corners then this may be useful. Needs a better, cleaner cut, though.

Es ist ölig/ verfettet. Man muss es erstmal gründlich reinigen. Beim Clippen muss man aufpassen, da die Marker (für ein Brettspiel) verrutschen können und dann ungenau/ schief clippt.

Okay, right up front - the description on these rounders makes it VERY clear that these aren't intended for use on sheet metal, and I'm using them to cut through thin flat aluminum wire (like https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07SC8CLVY), so I'm absolutely not using these in a way the manufacturer intended. Yes, this type of aluminum is very thin and relatively easy to cut, but it's still not what this punch was designed for. So "caveat emptor", etc.I'd been buying rolls of flat aluminum wire, cutting off pieces to create nose strips for COVID masks, then using a combination of straight-edge wire cutters and a fine metal file to more or less round off the ends for comfort and safety. It worked, but it was rather time consuming to produce a nicely rounded end. I decided to give these corner rounders a shot just to see if the all-metal construction was sturdy enough to deal with the sort of thin, flexible aluminum, and was pleasantly surprised to find that it's been working fantastically, and instantly and easily creates a nicely rounded end. (Tip - if you turn the punch upside-down, it's much easier to align the wire with the punch surface so the resulting curve is centered.) I've done dozens of nose strips this way now and seen no sign of degradation of the rounder. Between the time saved and the quality of the results I honestly couldn't be happier, and even if I eventually trash the punch by using it on metal I'd buy another one and still consider it worth the price. So, non-conventional application, but a very satisifed customer.
