This set of clay tools and glaze came with a little bottle of varnish with a brush, sadly not the best quality but could be useful. The varnish itself gives a nice gloss finish, the viscosity is good and it spreads easily and I’ve managed to get some good results with it, although more than one coat is required. The tools have a good variety and all are very useful. I particularly like the larger headed ball tools as these are very useful for smoothing in areas that are difficult to get to on a clay piece. All the tools are reasonable quality and seem pretty sturdy, great little set and pretty good value too.

This is a comprehensive and decent enough quality beginner's kit from Sculpot , but in view of the fact that it's basically advertised as 'Air dry glaze with tools', there's not much glaze. The tools are fine, but anyone who has already got the air-dry clay will almost inevitably have all of these tools as well.That said, I suppose that for 100ml of matte varnish and some nice quality tools, it's a good enough buy.

I ordered this set of tools and accessories which were designed to be used on air dry clay. Made by the Amazon brand kintsukuroi, the set includes just about everything you could need for sculpting, modelling and shaping, as well as a 100ml bottle of matte varnish, which I like to think gives my creations a 'professional' look.When I ordered a box of air dry clay a few weeks ago, it did include a range of tools alongside, and especially it included a number of 'cookie cutter' type shapes which are probably best suited to use by children. This set is more accessible to adults, with the tools included more suited to creating and shaping your own characters or shapes from scratch; there are no 'templates' here, and in all honesty, the effects they can produce are only limited by the skill (or otherwise) of the artist.There are a few tutorials on how to work with online clay and I recognise the shapes of these tools from those videos. There are tools here to soften joints, to create intricate patterns via a series of dots or lines, and to create different textures using brushes. You can also use these to cut and shape small add-ons for a more precise result all round.I'd say these are great tools for anyone wanting to work with clay regardless of the level of your skill; its certainly a learning curve but one well worth the effort; its also a learning curve made easier when you have the right tools to work with!Once the clay has fully dried (and patience is required for this) you can paint the creation with matte varnish that elevates it to a more professional level and protects it - some of the way - from scratches and damage.I notice the same brand of the varnish is available across Amazon on it's own, or as part of several sets, so it appears to be a go-to product for this purpose. You'll be able to replace the varnish in the future, then, without having to buy a whole new set of tools at the same time.The total cost for the set is £19.99 which is not unsubstantial, but hey - the better results you achieve may start a passion for a whole new hobby.I have no criticisms here of anything except my own skillset... which I am working on!Five stars.

At the time of this review you can get this clay modelling tool set for around £19This is a very nice set for home use and it seems to have all the tools you would need as well as a Hessian bag to keep them all inI think it’s really good value for moneyThe advert on Amazon clearly displays everything i received and I am very happy with them.My daughter has been doing some craft skills at work with NHS patients as an apprentice occupational therapist and sometimes brings work home, she was very happy when she saw this set arrive . not just the tools but a hessian bag to keep them inIf you are thinking about buying a set I think they are a good investment they seem well enough made to last for years..
