Game changer for rooms that have less air flow than other rooms. We’ve had this in our bedroom for 2 years now and absolutely love it, it’s so powerful. Can be loud like a ceiling fan when on high volume but I don’t mind

High quality unit. It seems a bit much to have controls on the register, a remote control, and Bluetooth controls with phone app...but I guess it suits more users that way. Initially I was looking for a simple register booster with a sensor to kick on when an increase in airflow occurred. Decent versions of those were in the $50 range, so I decided to splurge and get this one with more control. The Amazon listing is a bit misleading as it shows a time plot of temperature, humidity, and pressure (as of 4/29/2025). Other products from the manufacturer offer that (for indoor growing), but this booster fan only tracks temperature over time.

I have a cold/hot bedroom because it’s above my uninsulated garage. The duct to my room runs through the floor / garage ceiling. In the winter (Canada) my room can be 17-18 C while the rest of the house is 21 C. In the summer it’s the opposite.I bought this with a lot of hope and OMG it actually works. It’s pretty quiet so that isn’t an issue for me. The instructions and controls are a bit complicated or I’m a bit dense. Probably a bit of both. Anyway probably the best thing I’ve bought in the last year on Amazon. PS I buy too many things on Amazon.

I ended up buying this product because HVAC companies continually failed to deal with unbalanced airflow in my house. Particularly all three upstairs bedrooms get really hot in the summer because there's barely any air coming through the ducts, while the main floor is freezing cold.There's a few things that I think should be mentioned, though:1. NoiseYou can set the fan speed between 0 (off) to 10 (full blast). I need to set mine on 8 for it to make a noticeable difference in the airflow. This will obviously depend on your setup and how much air you're already getting to your problem vents. Anything above 5 is noticeable. Anything above 6 becomes noisy. I think they could've used 1 large fan instead of the 2 smaller fans or used higher quality fans that make less noise. Having said that, I'm fine with the noise level because my alternative is being uncomfortably warm when trying to sleep.2. ConfigurationThe first time you configure this product, it might be a bit confusing. Basically it has a thermometer in it to register what the air temperature is in your vents. This does NOT measure the temperature in your room, just to be clear. What you do is set both a "cold" and a "hot" threshold that trigger the device to turn on. My magic numbers are 15 for cold and 25 for heat. This means once the air has reached 15 degrees, it assumes it means my AC is on. If it reaches 25, it assumes my furnace is on. It makes sense once you realize how it works.3. Cable managementThis might not be an issue for people without pets. One of my cats LOVES to chew on the cable for this. I'm currently looking for cable management solutions, but the issue is that my vents are on the floor and they're a few CM away from the walls. Also my baseboards are not flat, they have a design on them which makes cable management up to a wall outlet annoying. I'm not really sure what an alternative solution would've been? Maybe a hardwire kit for those who are a bit handy so you can run the cabling under the floor and to a junction box.4. CostI managed to get this for $93 CAD. It seems to sell for $70 USD in the states. Let's be honest, this is pretty expensive for what it is. It's a small piece of metal, 2 cheap fans attached to the metal and a small thermometer. This product should probably be around $60 CAD. Maybe there's room for an open-source implementation using an Arduino and some computer fans.Overall this is a fantastic product for those of us having airflow issues. I'd still recommend people attempting to fix the problem with a more long term solution (installing dampers on your ducts and balancing airflow), but if that's not a solution for you - try this out.
