My problem was the washing machine would not heat the water.This heater element's physical dimensions are ok and when tested with amultimeter shows 26 ohms which is a good (that's just 26, not 26 hundred ect), but the ntc thermistor provided (bit with the white plastic cap) included in this element has a range of 20k ohms and this is printed on the side of it and this matched multimeter testing (room temperature dependent, when it warms up the multimeter reading go down and as it cools down the readings go up).This part is not compatible with the WMB71231 washing machine even though the seller lists it as compatible. The element physically fits but the ntc thermistor needs to be the 4.8k ohms for my WMB71231 washing machine. Check your own as it has been known for manufacturers to change parts, so don't be to quick to point the finger at the seller.

Had a leak from back of washing machine, turned out to be wear around the rubber seal on the heating element.Replaced really easily, works perfectly with no leaks.

Just saved myself few hundreds £ for new washing machine as my 8 years old Beko stopped heating the water. Very easy to replace the heating element. Many clips on YouTube.
