I had an issue because the instructions were not readable. I sent a poor review that I now totally regret. The package included an email address for questions. I received IMMEDIATE response that solved the problem. This is high quality service! Ignore poor reviews.

For this soil test kit, you are given 2 small 'test tubes' and if you are thinking of purchasing this, also buy test tubes because the ones provided, as instructed barely give you enough water to run 2 tests, not all 4. The pipettes were impossibly small. Additionally, the solutions in the box were wrapped in cling wrap to prevent leaking, but it didn't help, they leaked all over the box and contents. I washed everything before I ran tests and question the legitimacy of it. The color of the potassium test from multiple points of my garden didn't register on their scale, it was bright blue; the highest measurement on their scale was sage green.

I have a microbiology degree and routinely test my aquarium water for various components so I am very familiar with how test kits should work. This is the WORST example of chemistry I have ever encountered! First they send you instructions (poor grammar) to use 1-2 grams of soil….. Am I supposed to buy a gram scale to figure this out? There are no marks on the tube. Then add 10 ml pure water to the tube and shake. Well, without the soil the tube only holds 6 ml water! How is this supposed to happen? Then you are to take 2 ml of surface water and mix it with the test solutions. They give you a teeny, little siphon tube that hold maybe 0.25 ml and also give you several tubes that are apparently for testing but each only holds 0.50 ml. So, do I need to buy a whole bunch of tubes of my own to complete this test? And finally, the instructions (despite grammar problems) for the Ammonia Nitrogen looks completely backward from the instructions for the other tests. Should I believe them or is it just more error? They give you a color chart to use for results… the listed times are all different from the printed instruction sheet. So, after all that time trying to figure out how to accomplish the test, I certainly don’t believe the wacky results. What a joke! If you want to know about your soil, and you should know… contact the Agricultural Department at your local State University. That is worth your money, not this poorly engineered test kit. Wish there were zero stars option!
