I had high hopes for this little camera - afterall, decent sensors and electronics are now cheap and plentiful, and priced at around £50 I figured this was sure to be decent... I was wrong.My first impressions weren't great - the device feels very cheap and plastic'y, and I've little doubt that it'd shatter into a thousand pieces if dropped onto concrete. I switched it on, and again not a good impression - the supposedly "IPS display" is incredibly low-resolution - it's so blocky that details cannot be made out at all.Then I took some photos, supposedly with the camera's "48MP CMOS sensor". I plugged the camera into my PC to take the photos off, and noticed that the file sizes were smaller than they should be - less than 2MB for photos with resolution of 8000x6000... hmm, that doesn't bode well! Sure enough, the photos are a noisy, pixelated, heavily JPEG-artifacted mess. I thought perhaps it was poor upscaling, rather than a useless sensor and heavy-handed compression, but I took some photos in 10MP mode, and they're just as bad. I've attached one so you can see for yourself - cheap phones circa 2010 could do better!I realise this device is marketing for kids, but even then - and especially at £50 - the photo quality is so bad it would put kids off photography for life!It comes with a 32GB SD card, and you get some accessories in the box: a spare battery, a mini tripod and a small carry bag; nice touches, but pointless considering this is a straight-to-landfill kind of device. What a dissapointment :(

Die Übersetzung der virtuellen Knöpfe auf dem Display ist so irreführend und falsch, dass ich das Gerät nach einem kurzen Ausflug ins Deutsche gleich wieder zurück auf Englisch eingestellt habe. Besser gewöhnt sich mein Sohn an die englischen Begriffe, als dass er die Begriffe dieser "Übersetzung" lernt.Die Bildqualität ist wie zu erwarten war unterirdisch, aber es ist ein Spielzeug, keine Kamera, deren Bilder für irgendeinen Zweck zu verwenden wären. Falls man das vorhat, sollte man mehr ausgeben. Und am besten gleich eine Kamera für Erwachsene kaufen.Für Schnappschüsse und als Spielzeug erfüllt sie aber ihren Zweck. Schade ist, dass der an USB-C erinnernde Anschluss leider nur mit dem mitgelieferten Datenkabel funktioniert.

Lieferung schnell wie immer......Kamera ausgepackt paar Testbilder ab auf den PC zu Lightroom.Fotos wenn man Foto sagen kann sind absolut nicht zu gebrauchen, man erkennt mit viel Fantasie ein Gesicht, die Bilder sind stark verpixelt.Habe ja nun schon einige Kameras gehabt, aber so was noch nie.Handy man bedeutend besser Fotos.Alles wieder eingepackt und zurück...

I requested this item to add to the pile that I intend to donate to a local charity that distributes presents to children at Christmas.The camera arrived in a compact box. The instruction book is thorough and useful, although younger children will struggle to read much of it. The camera is small and lightweight but it doesn’t feel very substantial when you hold it. There is a storage bag and a wrist strap for easy access but it doesn’t give the impression that it will weather the knocks that it is likely to receive from a child.The camera is relatively easy to navigate and I’m sure that tech savvy children will have little problem operating it with a bit of adult guidance. The picture quality isn’t as good as I would expect from a camera of this price but, overall, this is a good first camera for a child who is expressing an interest in photography as there are lots of editing and set up options.

The camera arrives in a quality box, so first impressions were that this would be a quality product. However, on opening it up, the camera body feels like it is cheap plastic. If dropped, I imagine it might crack and break easily.On the front, the camera lens area is enclosed in a plastic surround with a clear screen through which you can see the lens. This is only slightly recessed so is easily capable of being scratched and there is no lens cap to offer protection.On the top, you have the on/off button and the shutter button. On the bottom you have a screw thread for using a tripod and the battery compartment cover. The camera ships with 2 batteries and one is pre-loaded and charged ready for use.The rear of the camera has the LCD screen and to the side, the zoom in/out button and some multi function buttons. The buttons are black plastic and if held in the right light, show symbols, but these cannot be easily seen otherwise. Consequently, trying to figure out what does what is not intuitively easy. There is a star-shaped arrangement with a very small 'ok' button in the middle, which I found difficult to press without pressing one of the surrounding buttons. If you have have small hands/fingers, this is likely to be less of an issue.Picture quality is OK but I would say my iPhone 12 camera is at least as good, if not better. Despite the alleged 48 megapixels, I found some of the images lacked detail or sharpness. Same on the video function.The menus are for me, somewhat complicated to follow and pressing some settings did not appear to top anything. Not sure if that is just me being stupid or the operating system.In conclusion, I would say this is an OK camera, probably aimed at younger people perhaps just trying out photography. At the current price of just under £50, I think it is a bit overpriced, sp not the best value. Given how it feels in the hand, I would have thought a price of around £30 ish m ore reasonable.
