I bought this as a gift and had it out on my table for a few weeks before giving it away. After wrapping it up and giving it away, I missed it so much that I decided to get one for myself. The bookends are classy looking, heavy, and sturdy.

Looks ok the distressing they did was pretty poor but other than that I do like the look. The real issue is with the tail extends past the bottom portion of the bookend and doesn't do a great job of securing the books.

Really nice book ends for the whale lover! These are made of a really nice heavy material and crafted well. Good high quality product.

It’s beautiful! My daughter seen this at a gift shop when we were on holidays. It was $150. It’s her birthday gift and I know she will love it. It’s quite heavy plaster material but is painted very well to look like it’s weathered wood. Delivery was less than a week and very well packed.

I was in Newport RI downtown shopping and seen this in a nautical boutique for $59.95! I checked out Amazon, while in still in the store looking at the bookends and matched these up and sure enough!!! This is the SAME EXACT ONE! I was super excited to find it for almost half the price! I'm soo glad I did not go ahead and purchase it in the store! Great quality and looks great! They are heavy pieces so you can pack a good amount of books in between. I like the way the tail flips up to hold the books in place as well. You will not be disappointed! ps Loved them soo much I searched out the white whale ones on here and purchased them as well for another room in the house! Take care!
