Update 04April25: Replacement device was received and the replacement had an ON/OFF button. The product works as advertised and I feel better knowing my basement isn't trying to kill me.The product received was defective. It had no ON/OFF button that should have been on the right side of the product box. Just a hole in the box where the button should have been.Shaking the box let me know something was loose in the box. I suspect there was no one working that the final QA station when this item worked its way through manufacturing.Returned and asked for a replacement. I'll update once I receive the new one. Hopefully I will have a means of turning that one ON.

I like the meter but I am not sure of the accuracy. We had a charcoal test done and also a professional radon mitigation company test our basement and both were much higher readings then the meter we purchased. The two other test were similar readings near 5.0 whereas, the meter I purchased has readings around 1.0

I recently purchased the Digital Radon Detector, and it has proven to be an essential tool for monitoring air quality in my home. Its high accuracy in readings provides me with peace of mind, ensuring that my living environment is safe from radon exposure. The rechargeable battery is another impressive feature. It fully charges in just 6 hours and lasts for up to 2-3 years of continuous use. This long endurance means I don't have to worry about constant recharging, allowing for reliable monitoring without interruptions. The high-definition LCD display makes it easy to view results, providing real-time radon concentration data that is clear and easy to read. I appreciate being able to glance at the device to get immediate feedback on air quality. Its user-friendly design is notable as well. The lightweight and desktop-friendly layout allows anyone to operate it with ease, which is great for both beginners and those experienced in air quality monitoring. The device offers two cycle values for reference: a Long Term Average that shows the average measurement over a year, updated daily, and a Short Term Average that reflects readings from the past 24 hours or 7 days, updated hourly. This feature gives a comprehensive overview of radon levels over different time frames.Additionally, the starting preheating process is straightforward. The display shows 'CAL' (Calibration) and counts up to a minimum of 50 during a self-test for 30 seconds, with indicator lights flashing to confirm the process.Overall, the Digital Radon Detector is a high-quality, reliable instrument for monitoring radon levels. I highly recommend it for anyone looking to ensure their home or office is safe from radon exposure. It’s efficient, easy to use, and provides valuable insights into air quality!

This is the 2nd time I've purchased this and have to return because it is defective. It doesn't even power on and the button is loose.

Quick backstory - We hadn't tested our house for radon. Then after we were told someone in the neighborhood had lung disease and their basement radon test came back 100 times the safe limit, I bought an electronic radon measurement tool and found our basement level was 50 picocuries per liter. We installed a radon fan system and the levels dropped to less than 2 pCi/L. That was with an old electronic tool and according to their website, the device I have has a shelf life which it has exceeded and should be discarded.Enter this new radon detector. I really like this one much better. It's (rechargeable) battery operated and easier, more convenient to place as you don't need to be near an electrical outlet. It has a bright color LCD screen with long and short term averages, and a red/yellow/green light indicator for a quick read of the radon levels.Comes with the charging cable but also has the AC adapter block.Instructions are OK, but there is no mention of the charging procedure. Not sure if there is a low battery light to let you know it needs recharging, the screen does go into a screen saver mode to preserve battery. I imagine there is some sort of power indicator, but can't confirm that.It took about 24 hrs to get acclimated and output the first reading, and our level read below 2 pCi/L which is what the old detector read back when it was in use.I really like these electronic detectors, they are so much quicker, easier, more accurate and trustworthy than the canister method where you have to send it off to a lab for the results, trusting it was done correctly and documented accurately.I use this device for our family's safety, and very much recommend using it. A thumbs up five star product worth the investment.
