The finished product is great but I bought this as a complete kit and it isn't. It is a reduced price but nothing stated that it didn't have enough tapestry wool to complete it. The product was sealed and looked brand new but about half way through stitching it became clear you were going to be well short. It was by at least 7 skeins and the brand is not easy to find. DMC tapestry wool comes from France and more than one outlet told me that they used to stock it but had switched to an English brand since Brexit. One of the colours is even discontinued within DMC. If you know before stitching you could switch to another brand and get a very similar result but I was half way thru. I haven't made a mistake or mismatched colours I was left with scraps even with the colours I did have in the kit. I notice the V & A use a different supplier for their more recent kits. I think it must have cost me about £18 to source the missing skeins but the time trying to find them you can't put a price on. I thought kits were supposed to make life easier. A refund would not have been an option for me as it wouldn't have compensated me for the hours I had already spent on it.

It is a beautiful design and should be relatively straightforward to stitch but I am very disappointed. Like the previous reviewer, I have also found the amount of wool provided to stitch the design is very tight and I will probably need to purchase more. But the main problem is the quality of the colour printing on the canvas. The design is a mirror image, but the colour printing on the canvas has been distorted so the right hand side of the design has "slipped". In order to maintain the symmetry of the design, I am having to ignore the colour printing on the canvas and work directly from the stitching chart, which is confusing and frustrating as well as taking a lot of time.

I'm nearly finished doing this tapestry and I've found that the supply of wool can be tight for a few colours - even if you're careful. Fortunately I've been able to buy extra skeins at a local arts and crafts shop which has DMC tapestry wool (some also available at Amazon).
