This attachment and the other parts needed to complete a custom wand may seem expensive but they're worth the price. (other parts needed include the tube extension if you need a wand and a water breaker head available in different sizes and flow rates) I have low water pressure because my well pump is about 40+ ft lower than where I water my container garden. This modular system was the answer. Customize it to your needs as Dramm makes several modular valve types. A normal sized water breaker head (found on most water shower wands) just results in a drizzle to a heavy stream (no shower) that disrupts the soil surface making it almost impossible to start plant seeds in a container without most getting washed away by the heavy flow (scallions, radishes, and other shallow plantings that you wouldn't start in individual seed starters). I bought the 170 hole head. Due to it's smaller size and fewer holes this water breaker is the perfect answer to get a nice shower from light to maximum flow under low water pressure conditions. For me the price for this and the other individually sold pieces needed to complete a customized watering wand is justified by the money I've wasted buying watering wands designed for municipal water pressures that end up given away or thrown in the trash. I can't end my review without mentioning that this valve handle is well made to truly professional specifications (as are the other parts in Dramm's professional series)!

I never actually had a chance to use this because I found that the thumb switch was very hard to push forward. I'm sure over time it would get better, but I opted to return it because I didn't want to injure my thumb from constant strain of turning it on and off.

Works very well and easy to use. Looks durable. Have used it for 6 months now. When the valve is open it is wide open, not a smaller diameter inside like some of the valves I have purchased.

Not a bad price for what seems to be a really solid product with a lifetime warranty behind it (I haven't looked into their warranty process but one can hope if it ever comes to that...). Male threads are solid brass, female end is aluminum or maybe zinc (I didn't care too much or look too closely—there's plastic screwed into it right now so that shouldn't get itself in much trouble). Definitely on the heavy side, if that matters to you. This was to replace the common cheap plastic ones with the silver-painted male thread end, as mine (all $4 worth of it) was starting to leak. Hopeful that this sucker will stand the test of time!
