Looks like a decent helmet. Haven't used it yet. I'm a beginner. I got it with a welder as a package. I intend to use it for light duty use at home....I'll update after something breaks, and needs welding.

Got it with the welder combo deal, so it came out to like twenty bucks. I know these things are all a race to the bottom, but this is a real welding helmet at least as good as the HF special.This is designed for DIY users, for occasional use. For that, it’s great.Would be a great backup/spare helmet to lend out or throw in the truck.If your workspace is very brightly lit, you may need to turn the sensitivity setting down to minimum.

I have recently learned how to weld and have been doing repairs around my home. I have been using a very old welding helmet that requires you to flip it up and down as you weld. I found this very awkward, especially since I am a new welder. I wanted to get a helmet with auto darkening but they all seemed way outside of my budget. I came across this helmet that was auto-darkening but the price was amazing! Was it too good to be true? The short answer is NO.The helmet arrived very well packaged. It included the helmet, 2 external protective screens, 1 internal protective screen, and a user manual.The helmet has a lot of adjustments on it. You can adjust the straps on the top of your head as well as the distance that your eyes are from the viewing window. There is a knob on the back you can use to tighten and loosen the helmet.It is very comfortable and you can adjust it so it fits perfectly.The helmet is made out of plastic which was expected with the low price but it is firm enough that it holds its shape nicely.The auto-darkening lens is loaded with features. It is both solar powered and powered with a small battery which is already installed.You can adjust the sensitivity and the delay with 2 dials on the inside.There is also a test button that you can use to test the darkening feature.On the left side of the helmet is the on/off knob that also has a "grinding" setting which will stop the lens from darkening when there are sparks. This is very handy for when you are grinding between welds. The knob is very easily turned while you are wearing the helmet.The view from the helmet is very clear.I have tested this helmet and it works perfectly. The manual explains what settings to use for different scenarios.I am very happy with this helmet. It has certainly exceeded my expectations and is great value for your money. I do recommend this.

Purtroppo dopo un paio di saldature non riesco a vedere più bene e sono costretto a rimuovere i vetrini per pulirli. Penso che farò il reso.

Finding an inexpensive, auto-darkening helmet for utility use can be difficult. This one was priced attractively and should pay for itself quickly.It arrived one day after the estimated delivery date. It was double-boxed and no signs of damage were noticed.The window isn't the largest at 1.67" high but it should be enough for my anticipated uses. The unit is powered by a front-facing solar panel backed up by a replaceable CR2450 battery. I like the delay, sensitivity and shading adjustments which provide needed flexibility.It is lightweight and should work well for my purposes.
