Cheap, but perfectly adequate for roughing out shapes in green hardwood. The straight handles allow the drawknife to be used pulling and pushing with bevel up or down.After first resharpening after heavy use, I've found it's often very effective used on a slant with a slight slicing motion across the grain as you draw.

Pros:The quality of this tool is excellent. You can't find a drawknife with ferrules on the handle for anywhere near the price of this one.The finish of the tool is excellent. The walnut handles are well finished.The tool is sharp right out of the box, although a bit of honing wouldn't hurt.Cons:The only problem I had was that the handle was too round. Although the handle is oval in shape and has a nice taper (the center is larger than the ends), it was a bit too round which made it difficult to accurately control the angle of the cut. It's fine for rough work but not so good for removing small amounts of wood.
