These chicken saddles are the simplest version I've seen and are sized for small to medium sized hens. They cover the most commonly affected area in hens getting too much attention from roosters--the mid back. To put them on you slide one wing, then the other through the elastic loops, and because the loops are connected through a fabric tunnel, you can pull more of the elastic to the side you are fitting, putting less stress on the wings. Once on, it is easy to peek under the saddle to see how the feathers are growing back in underneath, so you can decide when to remove it. I recommend this product.
