We have an upcoming cruise and wanted to look sleek like in old times dinner parties on formal nights to match my wife’s night gowns or formal dresses. I’m 6’ tall, about 200 lbs, athletic build (or so I believe to be). I normally wear a 44R jacket and like my jackets to fit me tight. I first ordered an XL, but found it to fit me too loose for my taste. Returned it and got an L which fit me just right. These suits will always need some alterations which I’ve got done at the local tailor, in my case needed to shorten a little bit the sleeves’ length ( I like my jackets to show about 1-1 1/2” of the shirt’s cuffs) and the usual hemming of the pants, but everybody’s case is different. The tailor work costs almost as much as the suit, but that’s what it costs for tailoring in today’s market.Regarding the quality of the suit, the fabric is neither thick or thin and it will definitely need a good ironing after receiving it from the seller all folded up in a tight packet. It’s made of a blend of synthetic fibers, but feels fine to the touch. Not sure if I will use the vest, but is a good addition to the suit. Overall it looks pretty good for the price point, even though there’s a lot of offerings for similar tuxedo suits. I like the look of the peak lapels made with a satin material (as well as the lapels on the vest). The one button closure and the sleeve buttons are covered with the same fabric of the suit, which I think it’s a nice quality detail. So, the jacket fits well and actually looks awesome on me. The pants are cut straight, in a modern style, with neither too wide or narrow bottoms, and feel comfy even if squatting or bending my knees. I would have loved the slacks to have a side satin line along the length of both sides, as old tuxedos used to have, but can pretend much more on this price point (or maybe that is not in fashion anymore).Again, overall a great buy and after trying other brands I decided for this one. It might be a personal choice, but take advantage of the return policies and look for the one that will fit you best and covers all the bases on what you are looking for. Combine with a good bow and white pocket square, I hope to make a great impression when getting to the bar…. I would like a vodka martini, shaken, not stirred….
