Sometimes, Chinese made tools can be good value, but experience tells me that quality control can be an issue. That's the case with the drill bit I received, unfortunately. At first glance it looked okay. Fitted to my drill, I discovered two problems: the first is a slight bend in the shaft, and the second is a less than perfect grind on the top. So, it shimmies around and doesn't cut as neatly as I'd want. I appreciate the chance to test it, but I think I'll stick to my usual Alpen branded bits.

Needed to make some storm repairs to my fence and these long drill bits made the job so easy! I can’t recommend highly enough! Stunning.

Living in a timber frame house this is a great asset.The deep cavities are always tricky to drill through when fitting pipes or electrical cables but this super long bit will make it easy.Seems well made and hopefully will lastGood value bit.

At first glance, this bit looks really good and it is perfectly straight. However, opinions change when you attempt to use it. I tested by drilling across the grain on a piece of medium density timber at slow speed. The bit would hardly make an impression and simply would not bite into the wood to any extent. The problem is the tip is 'sharpened' to completely the wrong angle, so will never work. I could spend a couple of hours attempting to sharpen it correctly, but am disinclined to waste my life rectifying others poor workmanship. The bin for this one!
