This is a nice compact stove brush and shovel, I like that this is quite short and doesn't look too imposing next to the stove, also by being smaller this does make it much easier to clean inside our wood burner which is quite small.I think that this is quite basic, and although appears well finished, the brush has lost a few bristles after only 2 uses.For the money I would say that this is a little expensive for the quality

I needed a small fireside companion set for the small wood burner in the kitchen, most sets appear to really only come as a 4 piece set. For my needs, I only want a brush and a shovel as the wood burner has a grate where the ash falls into a tray, I don't require tongs or a poker for this wood burner.The set came flat packed and required screwing together by way of a cross-head screw through the base into the support pole, the same applies to the top plate too. Whilst the lower screw is hidden, the top one is visible.The screws tighten up, but do appear to come loose very easily, so some 'thread lock' applied to the screw threads help to keep the screws tight.The shovel is a good size, the brush is perfect for getting into the small cavity of the wood burner. The handle on the brush also comes loose, but it is affixed via means of a nut that is visible, so a spring washer helps to keep the brush head on the handle without becoming loose.The size of the set is very small, but the dimensions are very clearly stated on the Amazon page so it should not come as a surprise when opened.Overall, it is a very low cost companion set and I believe it offers good value for money, I don't know how durable it will be (even with my over-engineering), but for the money I don't expect it to last forever.

This is far smaller than the usual wood-burner tool sets, standing just 36cm/14" tall... and that's exactly what I wanted!The smaller than usual shovel is great for getting into the corners of my 5kw woodburning stove, and the brush too is smaller than standard but perfectly adequate for smaller stoves and fireplaces. The stand comes flat packed for simple assembly with just a couple of screws and seems nicely made from what appears to be unblemished painted black steel, the brush and shovel having hard plastic handles. Note that a poker isn't included, but Kingson make and sell those too - I ordered one to compliment this set.As a minimalist fireside/stove tool set with just the two tools, it functions well, looks well made and rather cute, and doesn't dominate the hearth: Excellent value in my opinion!

This item was supplied to me free of charge through Amazon’s Vine program; however, this in no way influences my review, all items I request are products that I have a use for or will use and the reviews I then submit are intended to be both impartial and informative for potential purchasers.Fully renovating a house and with that we have uncovered a lovely fireplace in our living room and where we have removed all other fireplaces, we have decided to keep this one and when these came up, once the living room is completed, these will look lovely next to the exposed brick and log burner log burner we will install.

There is a big difference in the item in the photos in the advert and what you actually received. The brush is matted together and the bristles were falling out when I unpacked it . The shovel is small , flimsy and not particularly well made . The base has areas of damage and thin paint coverage . The whole set is just cheap garbage and is not worth the £16.99 price tag , £5 would be nearer the mark and even then it would be a hard task to see the value .
