There was supposed to be a sound When the optimal vacuum level had been reached. But there Wasn't. We tried 3 different batteries so that wasn't the problem. After pumping pumping pumping we would Test it out by moving the button to release the pressure and there Would be a very tiny little puff of air. We have never used one of these things before so we don't think it was working.

After wasting money on a VacuVin product similar to this that didn't work at all, I am delighted that this is not only cheaper but it does what it is supposed to. The VacuVin sucks the air out of the bottle no problem but the stoppers don't create a lasting seal and within a few minutes the air has gone back into the bottle. Didn't matter which style of wine bottle, it just didn't work. These stoppers are much better with a dual seal on the neck of the stopper. They are also much softer than the VacuVin ones. I used this last Monday night to seal up a half bottle of red wine and then last night - Sunday night - opened it up again and there was a rush of air as I popped the seal on the stopper. The wine was perfectly drinkable!

I am so glad I got this! I love the fact that it is all in a case and it makes it easier to keep everything together. I love that it beeps at you to let you know you its done so it takes the guess work out of it. I have noticed that my wine stays fresher longer and I even use it on my wine that does not come with a cork. Great product.
