This torch is ideal for camping trips, or to keep in the dash of your car for when you’ll need it. It’s reassuringly heavy, courtesy of the 5000 battery which can be used as a power bank. It seems to be robust, withstanding drops, “light submersion”, and the tolerances of the casing backs that up. This thing is a solid chunk of a torch.Main beam is strong, the intensity is adjustable (X3), and focus is a simple push/pull, meaning you can go from wide beam to spot with ease. Not entirely sure what good the subsequent flashing modes are for, but hey, the more the merrier.That zigzag affair on the handle is equally as useful, providing a softer light for fishing/camping, two modes plus one extra that pulses in case you need to confuse any wildlife outside the tent. The main beam and side zigzag can both be used at the same time if required.The red/blue modes are more of a gimmick, barely visible from over 5 feet, and more suited to the top of a Christmas tree. Having said that, if you were outdoors and wanted a low light level you could become accustomed to, it has its uses. But “emergency lights” is rather pushing it as far as descriptions go.The base is not magnetic, in case you were wondering, but in a torch of this weight, hardly surprising. The base does have a “handle” though, and the strap provided should provide a few extra options when most needed.Would I buy again – absolutely. The torch is more than capable of providing the user with loads of options, and tough enough to withstand anything most of us could throw at it – and all this at a decent price point.

Okay, here's a shorter review:This Sogdeco torch is super bright and also a camping light. It zooms and has 11 light modes. The battery lasts long and charges with USB-C, even charging your phone. It's strong and waterproof. Easy to carry with a string and hook. You get everything you need, and they give extra warranty. Good for camping, walks, and emergencies. It's a good, bright light.

For the price I was not expecting much but this little light came as a very pleasant surprise.I got the gold version but I initially looked at buying both this and the blue. At the time of purchase to buy both together on Amazon would cost £15.59 but with 35% off( 30% discount plus a 5% promo) for the gold and the 20% for the blue the total cost came to £14.65 if ordered individually. I just got the one to see how it was. Cost was only around £9.99 to start with so I ended up paying £6.66. Absolutely delighted with what I received so I have now bought the blue as well. (Update 9/9/24- Typical, two days after I posted the review the discount on the individual items changed and is now less but 20% is now on for buying the pair. £12.47 now for the both!)The packaging was nice with a foam interior for the torch, its battery and the lead.For the price this is a nice zoom torch. The beam is a circular one with no emitter pattern visible...always a good sign for me and provides quite a tight beam on full zoom. The beam has minor flaws in that a slight blue spot appears in the centre of the spotlight when zooming in and out but it is no problem in the real world.The battery is a 16340 1000mah which is an odd, small size but it is supposedly compatible with CR123A type batteries so there is an alternative power source if needed. At around 63g with battery it is very light in weight so it can be fitted onto a baseball cap rim with no problem.The magnet is adequate but not that strong horizontally but is fine vertically.The finish , while not special ,is excellent for the price of this light. I particularly like the machining around the power button and charging port as it allows the finger and thumb to fit comfortably so giving a good feel when holding the torch.Some other reviewers have mentioned that the rubber seal over the charging port does not hold in place all that well and they suggest moving the belt clip around to hold the cover in place. So far so good with mine but it is good to know this trick as it will get loose in time so thanks for the tip.The torch does get warm in turbo mode and though not advertised it does really have the latter. I measured approx double the output from the high start mode when double pressed.Potential lumen output at source does not necessarily translate into brightness. The advertised 3 watts did not give me confidence in the 2000 lumen claim in the specs and my amateur tests suggest around a 200 lumens brightness output at start up in high with around 400 in turbo. And yes there does seem to be a turbo mode as the instruction sheet is a bit contradictory.I paraphrase here from the user manual but the essence is:“ There are 4 modes: high/ middle/low/ strobe. Press to cycle through then double press for high, long press to finish”.HOWEVER, my light goes High/Medium/Low/ Off. Or double click to Turbo then single to Off.Strobe is a press and hold from any mode.There is however one flaw that stops this being my top bargain purchase; the light does not hold its brightness level and in turbo falls immediately from turning on, finally leveling off at below 100 lumens after less than a minute or so. However, double press and it goes back up to around the 300+ lumen mark but then it gradually slides back to the low lumen level getting quicker in the cycle between presses as the battery depletes. I found this with both lights. High mode seems to be more consistent from around the 150 to 200 lumens level from start for a minute or so but it too starts to ramp down . I think it is to be expected from such a small power source and almost all lights only maintain full brightness for a short period.!This is not a major issue to me as I will only use the light in bursts anyway but for those of you who want a fairly high steady and reliable output this could be something to think about. This a good lightweight , cheap and bright torch for occasional use but think carefully if you want a sustained output level above a couple of hundred lumens without having to constantly keep turning it off and on.This is still one of my favourite purchases from the under a tenner market in 2024 despite the flaws and minor niggles. I like it enough to give a four star Amazon rating even if it is more a toy than a serious torch.

Nice size, good lighting, well worth having. Thoroughly recommend.
