The three inch auger ground anchors by Lifeswell are made in PRC (china). I have soft ground, and normal stakes just lose their grip and side loose. These anchors are roughly 30 inches long, and that's long enough to get below the frost line for me and hold. I also have the occasional rock, and found a few putting these in with a 1/2 inch cordless impact (the top nut is a 14mm). The auger portion is tough, as I hit a few rocks trying to install these. The plated still should last, but I dinged the auger plating on some rocks. These are made from regular steel, and will rust if the plating is compromised in a ground contact application. I think that if they last ten years, then these might be worth it. I would suggest looking for a stainless steel version if your needs require life safety applications.4 stars

These anchors are awesome! We do not have a trampoline, but we do have a large Quanset storage building. Occasionally, we have very strong winds that if they had their preference would launch it and set it sailing. We’ve used smaller stakes before to anchor it, but they pull out over not too long of a time. When we saw these, my husband said “That’s it!“ he was completely impressed with their size, weight, strength of the metal, and how high of a quality the finish is, along with the welds. They points are sharp for cutting into the ground, and screw design made them pretty easy to drive into the ground with the included bit. He tried pulling on them once they were installed, and there is just no budging them!Do remember, though, that they are in the ground and if you ever move an object that you have anchored to them, and they happen to be in a place that you might use a rototiller or lawnmower, or the like, they could do serious damage to those items so be sure and flag them somehow if your anchoring is for a seasonal object.Highly recommend!

I used these on a 10' high tower project. Wanted to make sure high winds would not shift or topple the tower. I used these on all four legs. Soil was clay. Installation process: 1) Pounded in a 3/8" rebar to start and define the hole and path; 2) Drilled anchors in half way with a small Ridgid impact tool; 3) Then finished the job with a 18" adjustable wrench; 4) Brackets attached to the 4x4 legs, then were bolted to the anchors.Pictures: 1) one drilled in, with a new anchor beside it; 2) fully installed brackets on the bottom of the tower legs; and 3) closer picture of the anchor / bracket / tower leg. Note the rust already forming after one week -- I knocked one star off due to the rust forming so quickly.Happy with the product and the quality. Everything appears to be solid except I am concerned about the rust. Time will tell!!

These 30-inch ground anchors exceeded my expectations. From the moment I unpacked them, I could tell they were made for serious jobs. The steel is thick, the welds are solid, and the chrome finish is good to look.I used them to secure a 12 ft trampoline in my backyard. The installation took a bit of effort, mostly due to my tough clay soil, but once in, they’re not going anywhere. I started with a 18V impact driver which was suficient to get the job done. One pro tip is to wet your ground well or doo the installation after a good rain.I was also impressed by how well the hardware held up under pressure. No bending, no stripping, and everything stayed tight—even when I had to force-align some brackets. The included socket worked well, though I did run into one nut that was unexpectedly 1/2” instead of metric.Once installed, these feel like they could hold down a small building. If you’re looking for anchors that won’t budge, these are the real deal.
