The storage capacity is okay at best. While the item itself appears to be sturdy the magnetic hold is not. The weak hold reduces the functionality of this magnetic hanger greatly. If you want to use the item as is to just store empty hangers without extension you should be fine as long as you are not trying to store wood or any more sturdy types of hangers. The unextended portion holds a fair amount of my ultra thin velvet hangers. It falls off when even partially extended. If you only want to hang up a 2-3 light weight items and push them towards the base, you should be fine. Anything more than that the grip makes the organizational appeal of this item moot. I first tried some really strong earth magnets that I had on hand, which helped greatly, but I wanted to be able to use this to it's fullest capacity, when I needed to. I ended up using a leftover piece of double-sided tape that came in another product for the shower and has an exceptional hold. Now that it sticks, so far with no issues and it can work up to it's limits I love it. It is exactly what is needed. However, the rating will reflect what it is for how it comes. The magnetic base needs to be made larger, perhaps more of a rectangular magnetic base plate with better magnets would make this product live up to it's fullest and still be aesthetically pleasing.

Works for a moderate number of hangers , but the magnet won't hold a lot of weight. Especially extended. Definitely can't fill it all the way to the end.

Perfect to keep the hangers up and out of the way! Was using one that sat on the counter and this freed up space! Plastic hangers are perfect. Velvet hangers can get heavy if they get towards the end when extended but holds quite a few not extended.
