Nut does NOT fit Makita RT0701C, but collet does. I carefully removed (use a thin screw driver) the collet from the nut and inserted in the factory nut that came with router, it works great for me, I am able to use 1/4 and 1/8 shank CNC bits. I hope it helps. I bought a return, cost me $17.00 Proceed at your own risk***

just fyi, this does not fit the makita router RT0701C, so, thanks for nothing,other wise its nice

I'm looking for a 1/4" to 1/8" adapter for my Makita 1-1/4HP router (RT0700C). Got this collet to see if it would fit but the outer diameter is too small. Collet is well made otherwise!
