The arm is great, I have the two section and three section versions. However, I don't know why they always show a picture with an all black arm. The end studs / spigots are not black like the picture shows, they are always silver. Not sure if they even make one with black spigots.

Solid and great quality Manfrotto product, don't get me wrong, that part is a full 5 stars! But it's got large teeth in the elbow mechanism, so when you start to tighten it down, it moves to the closest notch. If you don't care about this, then it's a great product. I was going to give it three stars, but the build quality is so good and the angles it does lock in won't budge after tightening it. I do macro photography in my office, so the difference between two notches makes a huge difference and end up compensating some other way.

Manfrotto has always high standards of quality and I own many products that I've been using for years (10 years now with the same tripod) and it never breaks, I traveled with the tripod and clamps many times.On this articulated arm all the sections stay in place when you lock them and the camera seems always secure.I own two. One is used by my girlfriend to record live drawings on her desk. Before buying this she had to use a tripod on her desk taking much of the space on the table. Now the tripod is on the floor and the arm holds the camera at the top pointing downwards.I also used it attached directly to a table with a Manfrotto clamp. It's very sturdy but it can pick some of the vibrations of the table.It's a good tool you can use for a lot of things if you get creative, I also used it to hold a mic once.The locks are very easy to open/close and they feel durable.I made this review after months of usage, good buy (I'll buy more). I believe you can conquer the world with this and a clamp!
