The bottle comes collapsed in a cardboard box with a tamper proof seal. The box includes a spare elastic band for holding it compressed and a small card giving instructions on removing the smell. I can confirm that the bottle certainly does have a plasticky smell, which may or may not be an issue for you. It certainly does leave a nagging doubt about its food grade credentials.Functionally, the bottle is excellent. Folding and unfolding is straightforward and needs to be done with the cap removed or at least loosened. When holding boiling water or hot drinks, it retains its structural rigidity, but becomes too hot to hold. It’s probably therefore better for holding cold rather than hot drinks. There are no leaks from the lid when filled and inverted.Overall, a good water bottle functionally, as long as you don’t mind the plasticky smell.

I’ve been wanting a collapsible bottle like this for ages and was so excited to try this one out. I got the lighter blue colour from the random selection.It arrived with no order at all, and after a quick hand wash we were good to go. It has about an inch wide mouth so I could get a sponge in, just soapy water and shook.I love how easy it is to collapse, yet sturdy it is once “open”. You can collapse each section individually so as you drink the bottle get smaller!water still flows all the way through though not very well. To get the last drops just open it fully, then fold down and use the strap while open to get maximum compression. Add the lid for a vacuum seal and voila! I’ve been using it about 3 weeks, no leaks. And a bonus folding and unfolding it really is just fun.My only feedback is the mouth is a bit of an odd size. I end up with it sort of squished on my face because it’s bigger than a typical bottle. Having alternative caps like a sports type would be good.

This foldable water bottle is surprisingly good!I didn't expect this to be much more than a gimmick, but having used this a few times while traveling now, it has changed how I can travel. The bottle twists to collapse (have a look at the videos) and goes down to an absolute micro size.My use for this is so I have a container for drinks but don't want to travel with a large container (think airplane travel or long distance public transport for work, I have access to refilling it at both ends, just want small for travel).I'm concerned it won't last all that long, but it's been ok for around a month of usage so far. Haven't had any leaks and it's surprisingly nice to drink from.For £11 at time of review, I think this a great price and has been a great item for me.

The Mefold POMKAKA is a foldable bottle that is highly portable for travel. It is described on the box as a "geometrically collapsible hydration bottle" because you open or collapse it by twisting each of the three geometric sections. It sounds weird, but you'll get the concept once you have it in your hands. The shape is like a slim milk carton in your hands, not round.It has a wide mouth that has a twist off lid. Take off the lid then expand the bottle by twisting the sections. Then it's ready for you to pour in 24 ounces of water. When you are done drinking, just shake out the last drops of water then twist to collapse each of the 3 sections. Put the twist cap back on. They include two strong rubber bands that you wrap around it to keep it compressed. When collapsed it will fit in tight spaces like a car's glove compartment. I measured this in the collapsed state as 2.5" x 2.5" square with a height of 3" to the top of the lid.The directions say that the food-grade BPA-free silicone construction is NOT meant for use with carbonated, strong acid, or strong alkali drinks. So it's meant for water, natural juice, tea or coffee. You can use it with a range of fluid temperatures from -10 to -50 degrees Centigrade and it is heat resistant up to 120 degrees Centigrade. Upon first use, if there is a slight smell you can put hot tea in it for 2 hours and pour it out to get rid of the residual smell. I didn't really detect a smell with mine.The bottle is light weight (96g) with durable, leak proof sides, is made of BPA-free silicone. and folds up to a compact size. This bottle is a great travel companion.
