I wouldn't use this paper to make tea bags, it isn't quite strong enough and it ain't what I bought it for. I was looking for a product nobody seemed to have any more (at reasonable prices). Turns out, according to the Academy of Model Aeronautics, that "silkspan" was tea bag paper...a tissue with greater than average strength, wet or dry.In use so far, it handles like lightweight silkspan, a little stronger than "normal" tissue but still lightweight. I'm using it on a Northrop XFT-1 in 3/4" scale (one of the most difficult models I've attempted, ever) and so far it's working great. Compatible with EZE-Dope, preshrinks well. Good stuff for us few remaining modelling nerds.

This artist teabag paper is a game-changer for creative projects! Made from plant fibers, it offers excellent air permeability and moisture absorption, making it ideal for watercolor, acrylics, and other pigments. The paper’s special texture effects—smooth on one side and rough on the other—allow for unique artistic treatments like crumpling and embossing. With its lightweight, acid-free composition and large size of 10 sheets (11.8x79 inches each), it’s perfect for both detailed and large-scale artwork. Highly recommend for artists looking to experiment with innovative materials!

Having recently picked up an interest in tea bag paper for some art projects, this pack provided more than enough for experimentation and projects. The paper is quite sheer, and while other reviews have noted that it *looks* a lot like gift-wrapping tissue, it is considerably stronger in that you can comfortably work with this paper when wet without accidentally ripping it - it does not disintegrate, doesn't show any significant shrink or sag when wet, and I didn't notice any particular directionality to the grain with respect to tearing or tensile strength (though there is a very faint visually directional pattern when dry). It can be torn by hand with modest force, but only with enough force to be intentional about it. When dry, it cuts cleanly, and allows a considerably quantity of light through. Given the thinness of the paper, it takes very little ink/dye/colorant to saturate this paper, though you can repeatedly apply-and-dry to accumulate color. It has light capillary properties (i.e., it will lift liquid vertically a small distance), and when liquid is applied to this paper while on a solid and level backing, the liquid does rapidly get pulled through the paper layer making for plenty of interesting watercolor/ink-based effects. Because of the translucence, this paper can also be layered repeatedly to increase color saturation or opacity.I'm quite happy with this tea bag paper, and have started to use it in a variety of crafts including cyanotype, paper lantern screens, and collage.
