Einbauen Festplatten anschließen und glücklich sein

Habe in meinen Tower wegen Win11 neue Hardware eingebaut.Das alte Mainboard hatte 6 SATA-Anschlüße - das neue nur 4.Also diesen kleinen PCIe-SATA-Adapter installiert (WIN11x64).Ein Test mit der gleichen HDD überraschte mich.Klare Kaufempfehlung

nach einbau bootet mein Server nicht mehr. Ganz klar finger weg von dem Teil. Sieht hochwertig aus, bringt aber genau das Gegenteil!!!!! Schade das es nicht 0* gibt sonst würde ich 0 geben!!!!!

Out of the box, this card was recognized by the latest Debian Linux. However, in my case I couldn't get the bios to boot even with the sata os ssd directly attached to an asrock H87M board WITH sata drives plugged into this card (but the drives were picked up in Linux once connecting them after the boot process started)After trial and error, I found by switching the drive controller from AHCI to IDE in asrock's bios, everything works as expected. Hope this saves someone the time or giving up.

Wie so bei so ziemlich allen PCIE Karten gestaltet auch hier der einbau sehr einfach. Ein half height Slotblech wird mitgeliefert, ich brauchte es jedoch nicht. Von daher kann ich wenig zum Wechsel des Blechs sagen, sah aber machbar aus. Die mitgelieferten Sata Kabel könnten, je nach Case, erwas kurz sein. Ich hab diese Erweiterungskarte in einem Fractal Node 804 in welchem die Kabel einmal zur Vorderseite, durch den Kabelkanal und dann wieder zurück zum Festplattenhalter müssen. Das funktioniert so grade. Die Kabel dürfen aber keine 2 cm weniger haben. Schätzungsweise wird der zweite HDD Käfig besser, aber der ist noch nicht in Benutzung.In Proxmox konnte ich die Karte nicht einfach als PCIE Gerät weiterreichen sondern hab der TrueNAS VM die Festplatten einzeln geben müssen. PCIE passtrough ist aber etwas anfängerunfreundlich, vielleicht funktioniert es doch, nur ich war nicht kompetent genug. Jedenfalls wurden alle Festplatten sofort erkannt und funktionieren wunderbar.Klare Kaufempfehlung für die, die ohnehin einen x1 Slot auf dem Motherboard frei haben. Aber am besten vorher nachschauen ob bei der Nutzung des x1 Slots ggf. die Bandbreite eines anderen PCI-E Slots verringert wird.

It's cheap and it worked for my media center PC. Had immediate plug and play with Windows. I can't complain.

Nach langem Prüfen habe ich mich für die 6-Port PCIE x4 Variante von diesem Hersteller aus China entschieden.Diese Karte läuft out-of-the-box unter Linux, und hat offenbar einen reinen und aktuellen ASMedia ASM1166 Chipsatz. Dieser ist erfreulicherweise mit einem Kühler ausgestattet, anders als manch andere Alternativen. Ggü der alternativen 6-Port PCIE x1 Variante (statt x4) hatte ich Bedenken, dass diese eventuell mit 6 Ports schon zu stark den Bus auslastet. Bei höherer Portzahl sind dann wohl zusätzliche Chipsätze für JMB Port Multiplier (>=8 Port) oder ASMedia PCI Packet Switcher, oder gar Kühlerlüfter (24 Port) verbaut, die den Betrieb nach Berichten in RAID-Foren eventuell instabiler bzw lauter machen. Also solange 6 SATA Ports reichen, ist das mE die zu präferierende Kartenvariante. Oft werden auch professionellere SAS Controller für höhere Portzahlen empfohlen. Aber das war es mir wg des Setupaufwands (Firmware, spezielle Kabel, Umstellung auf non-RAID o.a.) dann doch nicht wert. Und die 6-Port Variante läuft bisher einfach ausreichend/gut.Genaugenommen handelt es sich -- seitens der Anzahl genutzter PCI Lanes (zB laut Linux lspci) -- gar nicht um eine x4 Karte wie angegeben, sondern nur um x2. Vermutlich weil es physikalisch nur x1 und x4ff PCI-Express Kontaktierung gibt. Dies ist dann interessant, wenn wie bei meinem alten Asus Z170 Chipsatz ein PCIE Slot im BIOS alternativ statt auf x4 für mehr SATA-Ports auf x2 herunterkonfiguriert werden kann ("PCI-EX16x Bandwidth").Etwas schwierig im Vgl zu anderen PCIE Karten war der Einbau, da die Karte sich anfangs nicht so einstecken ließ, dass sie gleichzeitig am Slotblech festgeschraubt werden konnte und noch erkannt wurde. Es könnte daran liegen, dass man das Slotblech auch austauschen kann (Lowprofile) und die Passform daher etwas ungenau ausfallen kann. Das lässt sich aber mit etwas Drücken+Probieren lauffähig bekommen.

I recently purchased a newer motherboard for my main home PC ( X670E PG lighting ) but wanted some more SATA ports than came on it, only 4. Also I wanted to to speed up my various disk access speeds for video editing. My C: drive is a NMVe PCIe 4 (will move to PCIe 5 in a couple of yrs when costs drop). Used for Video Editing; 5 cameras and I do up to 2 hour videos - after all editing is done. I now have a SW RAID 0 HDD for raw video and a seperate SW RAID 0 SSD for a working output drive. This Card worked perfect, P&P no drivers needed, only needs a PCIe 3.0 X1 slot for max speed of 1GB/s (mine is in a PCIe 4.0 x1 - as PCIe is backward compatible). The RAID 0 nearly doubles the SATA III disk access, needed now that I have a Ryzen 5 CPU with 32GB 6200 DDR5 Ram. Video editing is much quicker than my old MB with 8300FX 8 core & 16 GB DDR3. The card does not provide any RAID features, it only adds up to 8 ports SATA III, but Windows 11 fully supports its own SW RAID and is super simple to implement in " Disk Management" - and I also put my Swap file on my RAID drives. You can get your hands on USED 1 or 2 TB 7200 HDDs now for super cheap and also USED SSD's. Also you can SW RAID up to 8 SSDs/HDDs per assigned disk through this Card, modern chip ASM1166 and the card is available in a PCIe 3.0 x 2 for double buss access Bandwidth.

Ich war auf der Suche nach einer Karte mit ausreichendem Kühlkörper und bevorzugt in schwarzer Farbe, damit sie zur Gesamtoptik des PCs passt.Da ich den Hersteller bisher nicht kannte und es sich um einen „China-Import“ handelte, war ich etwas unsicher, ob ich einen Kauf riskieren sollte oder nicht, habe mich dann aber doch dafür entschieden.Funktionalität:+ Ich betreibe mit der Karte nur Magnetplatten und konnte bei der Datenübertragung keine Unterschiede zw. den direkt am Mainboard und den an der Karte angeschlossenen HHDs feststellen.(Somit bleibt die Übertragungsgeschwindigkeit von SSDs mit dieser Karte ein offenes Thema.)+ Der große Kühler ist ganz klar ausreichend!(Im Vergleich zu den von mir zuvor benutzen Karten von InLine, Delock & Digitus, welche mit ihren ca. 10x10x4mm-Minikühlkörpern bereits bei rund 30°C Gehäusetemperatur ständig überhitzten.+ Das schwarze Low-Profile-Bracket ist eine nette und nützliche Zugabe, die den Hersteller so gut wie nichts kostet und dem Käufer bei Bedarf stark hilft!+/- Die Beigelegten Kabel habe ich nicht getestet, da ich eigene, schwarze Kabel verbaut habe.(Die Sinnhaftigkeit warum man rote Kabel zu einer schwarzen Karte beilegt ist jedoch zu hinterfragen.)Optik:+ Die Ausführung in Schwarz ist für mich ein großer Pluspunkt, da die meisten Karten in Grün oder Rot gehalten sind.- Dass die Karte LEDs hat, welche ausschließlich in Blau leuchten, war mir bekannt.Ich dachte mir, dass es das Farbkonzept im PC nicht allzu sehr stören würde… aber leider lag ich damit falsch.Die LEDs sind ENORM intensiv und ganz klar ein Störfaktor, wenn das Gehäuse mit einer anderen Farbe als Blau beleuchtet wird.In Summe kann ich nach 6 Monaten aber eine klare Kaufempfehlung abgeben, auch wenn ich wegen der intensiv blau leuchtenden LEDs eine einen Stern abziehen muss.
