I ordered this for my daughter as she's been taking an interest in her friends metal detector and when first unboxing it I thought it looked reasonable quality and not bad considering the price bracket. Some of the parts do feel a little cheaper than others but once assembled which doesn't take too long to do, it looks the part.I'm glad to see that this included a battery as so many toys or electronic devices don't include them and it's good to be able to get going straight from the box. The detector is easy to turn on with just a long press of the power button and my daughter was off trying to find metal in the garden and managed to find a few bits and pieces such as coins and screws I'd hidden for her to find. The LCD screen has a little dog theme which indicates the strength of the signal when metal is found.We've since taken it to a few beaches and she's had a great time finding things. The detector isn't powerful enough to find things that are buried to deep but will pick up items about 5-10 cm deep and quite a few things have been found lying on the surface. At the end of the day it doesn't really matter what is found if anything at all as it's providing lots of fun and anticipation of what she may find.The kit also comes with a plastic fork and trowel to dig up any findings although these do feel a bit plasticky and cheap but with these added to the kit it makes my daughter feel like a little adventurer.Loads of fun and highly recommended.
