We have had this case on the 5th Gen iPad since October of 2019, not only does it fit the iPad (perfectly) it also provides a surprising amount of protection! The case fits into the OSMO base fine, it's convenient to be able to pull the camera access flap down and install the OSMO mirror. You're pretty much limited to this case or no case if you want to use OSMO but it's been surprisingly durable for us. When my daughter got her OSMO setup (just turned 7 at the time) I told her that this case offered less protection than the 3 layer fully-enclosed Speck(tm) case we pulled off of it, so she would have to be a little more careful with this OSMO/Speck(tm) collaboration. All I can say is that I don't see in inherent "flaws" in this case and we value the OSMO features; it's worked for us, it should work for you.

Made of fairly cheap plastic, is super flimsy/bendy and doesn’t really “work” with the dock like it’s advertised. It makes the iPad so think it barely sits down on it.Definitely not what I thought it would be. The only reason I’m giving it 3 stars instead of 1 is because I think it’s neat that the part where the red Osmo piece goes, flips down. That part is nifty. The rest feels like a cheap Walmart case... with literally no padding or protection.

Yes- it Does fit Apple Air 1 iPad! I just bought this to give it a try (Amazon had previous mixed responses), and it works perfectly!It’s not very thick of a case, but should help protect from light falls on the floor.

TL;DRThis works with the new base (~July 2019 and newer) so be sure to check which base you have. All this case does is add a thin bezel/lip (~1/2”) around your iPad which fits into the Osmo base and has a cutout that flips back to allow for Osmo reflector to slide on. The bezel also provides for more edge impact protection.I’m a big fan of the Osmo Play system (see my other reviews of the genius starter kit and coding kits). IMO, this case should come with the iPad base + reflector and starter kits (perhaps with a small premium but not as much as this case is currently going for). It provides decent but not great protection. I feel like the cover will pop off with a fall; it hugs the iPad well but looks like it will eject the iPad with the right drop angle. Think of this case to be similar to a clamshell case without the front cover.My biggest complaint is that this case is the price, it should be much cheaper than it is since it’s arguably forcing parents to trade iPad protection for lesser protection + convenience when using the Osmo system.So why the positive rating?Does it work? Yes. Prior to this I would remove the iPad case every time the kids wanted to play Osmo, now it’s much simpler and they can get playing themselves.I give it 3 stars for the case + 1 star for Osmo convenience.If you do opt to purchase this case, be sure to check compatibility on the product page, works with the 6th gen iPad for school and a few others.
