I damaged my soft gold bangle while trying to expand it. Damaged the soft hammer as well so couldn’t return. Expensive lesson learnt.

Very pleased with this although I should have checked the size betetr before I ordered. For the bangles I make it only goes up to size medum - anything larger just falls off. My mistake not the product. I woudl recommend but check your sizing

Like other buyers, I should have done my maths before choosing this. I thought it's short height would mean it would be compact to store. It actually means that the top ⅔ of the mandrel is pretty much wasted and the useful end is tiny. A 7½" bangle just sits above the bench. Anything with a larger circumference just falls straight down like playing hoopla.The wood is well finished with a varnish but does get dented immediately.The hammer is what it is, and I've given it away.I already have an oval steel mandrel and I thought this would be an economical way to get a smooth round mandrel to supplement my stepped round mandrel (which is stepped in all the wrong places for my bangles). It would have been cheaper to buy a steel mandrel from the start, instead of 2 inferior versions.I would not recommend this unless you only want to make child sized bangles.
