If you're into MTB or just casual gravel rides, and generally wear loose shorts or track pants, you still need some sort of butt protection. I've not had luck with MTB shorts with liners. So far for me, these seem to be the fit. It's not like wearing bike pants under your shorts. It's more like breathable boxer briefs with a decent amount of padding. I'm not saying these are what I'd wear on a century, but a couple hour jaunt in the woods or along the river bed they are just right. Oh and the kangaroo opening up front is VERY welcome for the "facilities breaks."

I bought these after getting an infinity custom saddle and required a minimum pad for the best comfort and for an upcoming 500 miles multi-day bike trip.Worked great, no discomfort.

I’ve owned numerous cycling shorts from all kinds of manufacturers over the decades and these are absolute garbage. Sizing way off. Expect to go up at least two sizes. Way too small. Padding way too far forward, doesn’t even pad my entire rear end. Fabric pulls/cuts very uncomfortably at the thigh/groin intersection. Was gifted my first pair, way too small. Purchased a larger size with my own money and still too small. Will get returned. You get what you pay for I guess.

I bought these for my 18 mile commute. They're comfy and dry fast, and not too bulky so your co-workers don't wonder if you're wearing diapers when you've got them on under something. But everyone on the street will wonder if you're tugging your dingdong, because the legs on these ride up CONSTANTLY. Like, all the way and uncomfortable, so I have to slide a hand up my shorts at stop lights and pull them down. I keep trying to get passerby to slide a hand up my shorts, but they act all weird about it so I'm left to do it myself.
