This perle cotton comes in 12 nice saturated colors, with a nice sheen and 5 grams each ball. There seemed to be no color fade when wet and rubbed with a paper towel. The size 8 perle cotton thread seems to be two strands of fluffed up or slightly lofted, low twist thread. I tested by burning a thread with a lighter and it burned to ash, acted like cotton. Using a large eye needle, it was easy to thead, knot the end and sew easily through a layer of duck cloth and thin quilt batting. As far as the value for the money, I usually get twice this amount of thread with a higher or tighter twist. This thread looks, acts, stitches nicely and will be nice in projects, just wish they were larger balls.

Nice thread with beautiful, vibrant colors. It seems sturdy enough and worked well when tested on a very small project. However, there is just not enough thread to do a full project, so it is not something I would order again.

I use perle 8 cotton for hand, long-stitch quilting. I have also recently begun embroidery. So far, I am quite a fan of the Rhapsody threads. Beautiful colors, quality thread definitely comparable to DMC and Wonderfil. I was not able to find a color conversion chart. For my purposes that does not matter however if you are using an intricate DMC pattern and want to do a color match you may have a hard time.For quilting and for embroidery where I choose the colors, I would definitely order this product again. Quite pleased with this purchase.
