At a full 10' by 10', this Rhino Valley beach tent is a large shelter that comes with everything you need for days at the beach or park. The package comes with the shelter fabric, 4 aluminum poles, eight large sandbags, 8 plastic sand pegs, 8 normal metal ground pegs, 2 sand scoops, instructions, and a bag that easily holds everything. The fabric of the shelter is a bit different than I was expecting. It is a somewhat stretchy, Lycra fabric. At first I wasn't sure I liked it. But I believe it is less prone to tearing on windy days. There are some great features with this package. First, the sandbags are quite large, measuring about 18" by 19" so each one can hold a lot of sand to help keep the shelter secure on windy days. Each corner of the shelter has 2 strong loops where you attach the sandbags using the cords attached to the sandbags. The sandbags can be filled with sand, then a hole can be dug for each sandbag once the shelter is standing so the sand filled sandbags can be buried to give them more holding power. Note that there are 2 scoops provided to help with filling the sandbags and digging the holes in the sand. A second great feature is that the poles have a large ball at the end that the shelter sits on. These balls are then held in place using a cord that is provided with each pole. Each pole also has a nice point at the end that sits on the ground which helps keep the pole in place. Each pole is also a good quality, thick aluminum that gives them a solid feel. Another great feature is the bag that easily holds everything. There is no need to try and squeeze everything into a small bag like some other shelters. The package comes with 8 plastic "screw" type pegs for securing the shelter is ground that is soft, but not sand. There are also 8 normal, metal tent pegs for securing the shelter on harder ground. This shelter can be set up in different configurations. You can use the poles at each corner for the traditional full height shelter all around. Or you can use just 2 poles at one end and attach the opposite end to just sandbags or pegs for a lean-to configuration. You can also use 2 poles at opposite corners, with the other corners attached to sandbags or pegs. One feature that I think could be improved is the poles. On the one hand, I like how the poles are shock-corded so they are easy to assemble. However, this design limits how the poles can be used. It might be nice to be able to adjust the height of some poles if you want one side lower. With the current design, you have to remove poles and attach the corners to the sandbags or pegs to get one side lower to the ground. Or, you would have to not use bottom sections of the poles you want to be shorter and have them lay on the ground beside the poles and just set the non-pointed end of the pole on the ground.Overall, this is a large beach shelter with some really good features. I give it a solid 4 stars.

My first impression of this beach tent was positive—it arrived in a compact carrying bag and felt lightweight despite its size. Setting up the tent was relatively easy, though it’s best with two people to ensure the canopy spreads evenly. The sturdy poles snap into place effortlessly, and the sandbags are simple to fill. I would suggest to fill the sandbags as much as possible for better stability. Once secured, the tent stays anchored, even on breezy days.Measuring 10x10 feet, this tent provides ample space for six people, along with beach chairs and coolers; you won't feel cramped. The UPF 50+ fabric effectively blocks the sun, keeping the shaded area cool and comfortable. It’s also water-resistant, providing shelter from light rain, though it’s not meant for heavy downpours.Overall, this is a spacious, reliable, and well-designed beach tent and we enjoy it very much.

I'm reviewing this product in Feb in Canada, so this review is based on initial impressions and not a full product usage test. This is a 10x10 tent that is meant for beaches, and not meant for other weather conditions. The material is light and breezy which makes it good for summer conditions to provide a bit of shade from the sun, however this is not water proof and would not sufficiently protect from rain. The aluminum poles seem sturdy and should hold up the tent in fair conditions. Again I wouldn't want to use this in a very windy location. There are several mounting options, but the most reasonable would be to use the included empty sandbags, and fill them when on the beach.I do like how the carrying bag is sufficiently large and it's not a struggle to get the tent packed away. I wish more products were that forgiving in that regard.Overall I am pleased and look forward to testing this out.

Really glad that everything came nicely stored in the carry bag because there are quite a few pieces. The bag is pretty roomy too so it's not like most tents where you need to roll them up super tight in order to fit them back into the bag. There's plenty of leftover space, mainly because the incredibly stretchy lycra lies pretty limp and doesn't hold onto air bubbles. In fact, the material itself is very reminiscent of stretchy beach wear, perhaps something you'd see on a women's summer dress.Nevertheless, I'm super happy that the included yellow ground stakes are actually threaded. They're not much use on a sandy beach of course - that's what the sandbags are for - but for grassy hillsides and even earthy campsites they're excellent. They're plastic of course, but it's probably the hardest plastic I've ever held. Not bad at all. As for the sand bags, they're perfectly serviceable and can fit a surprising amount of sand in each. IMO, it's still probably best to bring a shovel with you and bury them anyway, since you don't want people tripping over them, in addition to the guy wires. As for the setup, I won't lie, it's best to have at least 2 people. A single person could definitely manage it with the sandbags because they can slide, but with the ground stakes it could be iffy. Getting the right distance is key. Personally, I prefer the 2-pole lean-to setup because it keeps the back protected from the sun as well. And it's DEFINITELY sun-proof that's for sure. Haven't tested the waterproof capability; but if it's anything like my old lycra canopy, it's likely more water-resistant than it is water-proof. The well-written manual also warns about its use in stormy and/or super windy conditions. That's pretty much common sense, especially when you're using the lean-to orientation.Really though, it's the stretchiness that I'm a huge fan of because it gives the material some play in the wind - which is unavoidable when you're at the beach. The shaded area will vary depending on the setup, angle and season, but it does tend to act like a sun dial throughout the course of the day. Best thing is that the taut canopy repels debris incredibly well if you set it up underneath a tree. If almost acts like a springboard, so little bits bounce and slide off of it with ease.As for height, after setting it up on grass in the backyard, I'm a 6' tall dude and easily have a couple of inches of clearance around the outside overhang (using all 4 poles). That'll obviously vary depending on how far you set the poles into the ground (especially in sand), but for general use, I think it's GOOD. The metallic ground pegs were obviously a cinch to nail in, but the yellow threaded ones were more of a challenge to twist because the earth is just so hard right now in the colder months. Probably why I like them so much. Because they hold fast.Otherwise I think it's a solid product. Certainly versatile because of the malleability and support options, and the carry bag is about half the size of my dome tent. Also takes about half the time to set up if you have another person and your guy wire distances measured out. Simple to use, easy to brush clean and far easier to get back into the bag than a standard tent. I'm a fan!
