Carousel stopped turning out of the blue on my 30 year old CD player….I was like this cannot be?! Pulled the top cover off and gently eased open the back plate of the player not to overstretch the cables or damage the pin connectors. The carousel belt had fallen off. Tired to reinstall and it immediately slipped off when I powered the CD player back up and tried selecting a different disc (before putting the top cover and back plate into position). These belts were a perfect replacement fit. Replaced the carousel belt and the other belt that is responsible for loading the CD into the player since I was already in there. One belt left over which is for the door drive. The old belts were stretched out when compared to the new ones. A happy customer. Thank you!

Belts are cheap. CDs are dead tech. Why even bother to fix my old Sony? Guess I'm old school and the cost of this "experiment" was minimal. I replaced the two main drive belts easy enough. On line videos will show you how simple they are to access and, for the most part, replace. The door belt is not so simple and there wasn't much on line I could find to show the best/easiest way to access it. Doing so requires detaching several wire harnesses, moving the main circuit board, out of the way, removing the plastic shroud from above the carousel, and removing the carousel from the unit. Once done, the door belt is a piece of cake to change out. With all three new belts installed, the unit works great. Many online resources mention the same. Change the belts and most any problem you're having will likely go away. Now my 400 CD changer is back on the stereo rack collecting dust. But at least I can use it if/when I want. Now . . . on to fixing my 45 year old turn table so I can think about maybe sorta using it sometime again!!
