I use the plugs and temperature sensors available for this system to control temperature (through a heater) and humidity (through a de-humidifier) and the system just works and with this device you can use the Tapo app and see what is going on when away from the house (assuming it is connected the internet router via the supplied Ethernet cable, and powered by the mains from an available plug) really good system.

Bought this & a light switch to replace a Broadlink switch that like many others have stated stopped working after time.Have had zero issues with this at all, really easy to connect. Very happy with it.

What surprised me most is that the door sensor and the hub have excellent range. The hub in the ground floor was able to connect the door sensor on the 2nd floor terrace door. Response time for alerts is good. Alarm also working fine. So far so good.

Read product details carefully before purchase! I mistakenly assumed that this hub would lighten the load on my home Wifi network of 30+ Tapo plugs and cameras which currently cause instability, however it is only compatible with certain Tapo devices like switches, sensors, doorbells and the more advanced Tapo cameras. Despite this, I am keeping the hub since it is useful to be able to operate those same 30+ devices with the Tapo smart switch (purchased separately and which requires the hub). Now, thanks to the Tapo contact sensor (also purchased separately and applied to my front door), I am greeted with welcoming lights and music when I return home. If you purchase a contact sensor, it can also be set to sound an alarm and alert your phone when there is an intruder, however then you end up with annoying sound notifications on your phone for all your other Tapo devices also. It would be useful therefore in a future update of the app to be able to toggle between silent or audible notifications for individual devices connected to the hub. On the plus side, the hub is unobtrusive and easily installed, as are any smart switches and censors purchased to go with it, and these can then connect with the hub and operate Tapo plugs and bulbs already on your Wifi network, without need to reset each individual device being controlled.
