I love this little carrier! I have two small Shih Tzus (Remy and Toshi) who are about 4.75lbs each and there was ample room for each one separately (I don't put two dogs in one carrier). Please note for the pictures I put my own small sherpa bed in the bottom to entice my dogs to sniff out something familiar and step in the carrier. The base that comes with the carrier works fine. I'm in Texas and mesh openings are critical to me when transporting my dogs on hot days. The 3 sides of mesh provided on this carrier assure great air flow and excellent visual contact. The carrier is very sturdy, yet lightweight. Without the strap, the entire carrier w/base insert weighs just under 2lbs (I weighed it)! I took Toshi to the vet twice last month and I could easily lift the carrier with her inside (note: I don't use the shoulder strap). I'm a senior citizen and total weight matters! Toshi (the blonde) thinks the carrier belongs to her, but Remy also tried it out for a bit. I saw a review about the top collapsing, so I added a couple with Toshi standing on the zipped top while Remy was inside - the top gave way a little under her weight, but it did not collapse (she wanted him out of there, btw)! I think the one thing I would like to see changed is "dual zippers" (vs a single zipper) added to the ends similar to the top door "dual zippers". It would make accessing the dog from the ends a lot easier and less awkward. Overall, this is a great little carrier and works perfect for trips to the vet.

This carrier is a couple inches smaller than my other one, but it's still quite roomy enough for an adult cat.(In my pictures, the cat seen behind the carrier is only a few months old)The zippers were a little stiff, getting the sidewalls zipped up, but I have no problem with the carrier being too saggy. Both sidewalls should be zipped up, and then you can unzip the "doorway" in one of the side panels.Both of the end walls are mesh, as well as the top flap, with a mesh panel along one long side, and a solid wall on the other (my other carrier has mesh walls on all four sides).You can unzip everything and flatten it down the way it shipped, for compact flat storage.It comes with a shoulder strap, but that's not a feature we ever tend to use.... our cat carriers get carried by hand. The hand straps have a velcro closure to hold them together over the top, and the whole thing is easy to carry.The interior floor of the carrier is a rigid board covered with a synthetic "sherpa fleece", which is actually really nice because it's thicker and more plush than the interior floor of my other carrier. I think this one gives more cushion for the cat to grip into if they need to stabilize their footing (with the carrier in the back seat of the car, for instance).

I ordered this carrier to hold my cat while getting him neutered. It's the perfect size and sturdy enough to hold cats comfortably while still being able to fold up for storage. The color is bright and pretty, and helps it stand out among other black carriers. It's well made with high quality materials and the zipper is durable. I highly recommend this carrier for the price.

The Good: This carrier comfortably fits one small to medium-sized cat. A large cat like a Maine-coon, or a chunky cat might feel a bit cramped, though. The best part is that it folds down flat to take up little space and makes for easy storage when not in use. Compare that to my regular cat carrier which is the same size but doesn't fold down so it takes up a lot of room all year long when it's only used a couple of times a year.Needs Improvement: The zipper has to fold back in order for the carrier to fold flat. Then it has to be folded back into place in order to zip up when the carrier is set up. I can tell that the zipper will not hold up, as the teeth were already starting to separate in two spots the first time I zipped it up. Unzipping and zipping the zipper over the separating teeth brought them back together again, but with stress from the cat's movements and just carrying the carrier around, I think the zipper teeth will separate sooner rather than later. Once zipper teeth separate, a little pressure causes the rest to unzip as well, which would be very bad since a cat could get out.I would have rated 3 stars for the zipper issue, but as I haven't traveled with this carrier yet, I don't know for sure there would be an issue, so I kept it at 4 stars to be fair.
