I’ve used many Trend cutters before, I use them every day and they’ve always been reliable so I was very surprised when this snapped off at the shank about 150mm in to my first pass. I’m a trained furniture maker so it was not due to misuse. Must have just been a dud.

I've got lots of Trend router bits and have always found them to be high quality and very reliable. Recently I needed a 1/4" flush trim bit to profile the inside of a series of 8mm cutouts. The material was 10mm thick beech, I had prepped the cutout by drilling and jigsawing out as much material as possible so the router only needed to deal with 1mm or so of remaining material, standard practice with any flush trimming situ.I thought this Trend Professional bit would be perfect. The first one snapped within 30 mins of use! So I returned it and got a replacement send. The replacement lasted about 10mins before I realised the bottom half of one of the cutting flutes was missing. Oddly that part of the bit wasn't even engaging the material, and my router isn't capable of exceeding the bit's max RPM, I can only assume there was some defect in it and it departed the moment the router span up.I've asked for a refund this time as this was not a cheap bit. Not what I would expect from a professional range tool.
