It has been very overcast lately where I live and I haven't had the chance to try this filter in full sun yet, but I have done some testing in cloudy and indoor lighting situations.In these scenarios, I would say that the diffusion effect on the highlights is very subtle to the point of being barely noticeable indoors. If you have a very sharp, clinical-looking lense it will take a little of the edge off of it and make the image feel slightly more organic in terms of roll-off, but the difference is subtle. I expect that it will be a little more pronounced in full sun, but I haven't been able to get out on a sunny day yet.In terms of impact on image quality, I have observed no loss in detail clarity when compared to shooting without a filter. Outside of the highlights image sharpness is virtually unchanged. There is a slight magenta color shift and no significant drop in exposure with this filter. Overall, it seems to be pretty good quality for the price.If you're just looking for some very subtle diffusion to take the edge of your sharp modern lenses the 1/8 filter could be a good option. If you want a slightly more dreamy/vintage look you will probably want to look at the 1/4 or 1/2 filter.

I'm quite impressed with this thing and so many opportunities this will give me. It really adds a beautiful, subtle bloom to the image and also helps soften out the image (in a really good way). In night shots or cityscapes, this makes the surroundings feel really surreal and just makes everything more intriguing to look at. I think this is vital for anyone as a nice-to-have and to experiment with. The results are amazing!This filter is also really well made. I didn't see any distortion or other weird issues. I can recommend this seller and their product!

I recently tried a different filter from this company and was pleased overall so when this was offered to me I wasn't going to say no.Construction and optical quality are spot on, it screws on easily with no optical aberration in use and results commensurate with what I would expect from a 1/4 mist filter.You can't really go wrong with this, I find that products coming out of China tend to fall into two very distinct camps, cheap tat or good quality, with nothing in-between.This is most definitely the latter.How I Rate- ***** Don’t think, just buy it!- **** Nothing to complain about, I’d spend my own money on this.- *** Does what it should but there may be better alternatives- ** Problems or issues encountered that outweigh any benefits.- * Run for the door!I only order Items that I or my family have a genuine use for and as such you can be sure that they are tested in real world warts and all situations.
