I have used a collection of 'gadgets' which rate from useless to OK some of the time - this one is 100 perfect all and every time.I have the squirrel feeder on a tall pole and when a squirrel tries to climb up the pole it soon learns that it cannot get passed this spring which covers the top part of the pole. The only requirment is it must not be placed where the animal can jump across or down straight onto the feeder. I have had this for over a year now and even birds have tried then given up.

This was great and fixed the squirrel tribe problem for a week. Then one of them read the manual and realized the if you hang on it till it stretches, you can scamper up it and defeat it. Tried a few different layouts and configurations but once found out not forgotten. Have to remove and but a dome which has been complete success sorry bit to be honest. Gave the slinkys to my neighbours children to play with so not wasted.

Within 5 minutes of being on the pole a squirrel had managed to climb up over the spring. The spring is only just the size width of the pole so the squirrel could still negotiate the pole. The box they came in is labelled as a toy for 3 years old and over but the bag it came in said it was a squirrel baffle. Did not do as described and they have been returned for a full refund.

Squirrels soon gave up trying to reach feeders with this attached to the pole
