I hike in regular Scrambler Mid boots all the time and love them but needed these waterproof ones because my hiking vacation was going to be a rainy one. I wore these on a hilly, rocky and a wet 3 mile trail. I wore them when grabbing stones out of Lake Superior and also around our campsite. They are waterproof, I had no water inside when the waves came around my boots, only wish these boots were a little taller up my leg. They are stiff, stiffer than my regular Scramblers but that was fine. If you have extra wide feet they may not be for you. They felt narrow, my toes didn’t feel so free and I only am just barely a wide. I had to loosen the laces on the boots to give extra room which made the 60” laces too short and hard to tie. I will have to put in new 72” laces. They were true to size. The lace hook backs inside at the top of the boot seem to be in a weird spot and rub on my ankle bone. I will have to sew and place in some extra padding or something to go between the lace hook backs and my ankle bone. All in all, they are okay and worked for what I needed them for. I don’t think I would like hiking in them all day as my toes aren’t so free in them. When I make the adjustments-new laces and extra padding for my ankle bone, they will be sufficient for my needs. 3 stars for me having to do alterations on them especially when they are so expensive.
