It came exactly as you see it (w/o battery). No instructions.I bought a brand new battery this morning before the main battery change and wrapped electrical insulation tape around the battery lead for extra security before pushing battery fully home to connector.Plugged the unit into my OBD II port BEFORE removing -ve terminal on car battery, then changed the car battery whilst unit was in place (battery change about 40 minutes due to complexity of +ve post assembly).Removed the unit once the battery was fitted then started the car (noticed the PP9 battery was warm so there had been power. All settings lost.Maybe I should have started the car up before removing unit but without a manual or any type of link to a website with procedures on how to use the unit, I'm just guessing.Cannot recommend.
