So let me start with the good! It is fairly quick with the voice translation and so far has been pretty accurate capturing my English when I speak. It’s great you can download languages for offline use. It seems like it is android like with a custom UI - noticed this on the keyboard. It has a screen protector and a clear TPU (I think) case for the sides and back. It comes with a few types of lanyards/wrist-straps which is a great addition.I love there are two buttons on the left and right of the main button. One for one language and one for the other so easy to translate from one side or the other.A final plus is that the battery life is pretty good. I set it down for a while (see below) and it still had 40% battery.My only issue is that I had trouble connecting to WiFi… repeatedly. I could not connect so I just put it down. A week or two later, I picked it up and it was connected. Once I got into WiFi I could download languages. Not, it appears there is an offline vs online menu option so choose the one you want. I assume if you are online it sends it to a server - not quite sure.Overall I would recommend if you don’t want to tie your phone up with this. However, you could do the same on your phone (even offline) so it’s up to your use case.

Not good. Nothing is automated. Have to select and press buttons for everything. Google translate does a way better job. This is bad for something that is dedicated to doing this one job. It fails so bad.

I recently took and international careers in an area where we were going to be getting new guests constantly boarding and offloading from the ship. On the ship, we were the minority language that was spoken, and many of our waiters, concierge staff, and room stewards were all attempting to communicate with us in English, but it always felt like there was something lost in translation. This device was incredibly handy and bridging the gap between us and people that we were fortunate to make friends with.I own another handheld translator that is indispensable to me at work, so knowing the power of these devices made the difference. One of the things that I really liked about this device was the fact that I could load almost any language that I wanted to be able to speak with somebody again. For the purpose of this cruise I was able to download the libraries for German, Italian, French, Russia, as well as Mandarin Chinese. Although we didn't know them all it was nice to be able to be able to converse with someone instead of that lost feeling you have when people are speaking around you, and finally you get to speak to them.Language is just a vessel of expression and with this device does an amazing job at being able to make it easier to communicate. For me, this investment was an easy purchase as I will also be able to use this at home as I speak with a lot of contractors Where English is only a second or third language.

This is an impressive little device! The ability to translate in near-real-time is amazing. The device fits comfortably into a pocket and the battery life is decent. The touchscreen works well and is fairly bright. Translating speech is simple: just pick the languages, then press the button on the left or right depending on who is speaking. The translation appears a few seconds later. It can also translate from pictures, which would be good for documents or signs on the street. I appreciated the offline mode also, which worked nearly as well as the online mode while not requiring a wifi connection. The included protective case was a nice addition and seems like it will keep it fairly safe against falls. One odd thing was that a lanyard is included with the device but there is no hole for attaching it? Would definitely recommend this if you are planning an international trip.

This language translator is pretty basic but effective and easy to use. The touchscreen is responsive and easy to read even though my vision isn't the sharpest. It's small and easy to tuck in a pocket until it's needed and the quality seems good and has a nice feel to it in the hand. Overall it's a solid choice for a reasonably priced language translator.
